CMUballer, I didn't mean for my comment to be taken negatively. It was a 5-second effort at adding one line of humor to what was unfolding as an already negative thread. It's been informative and opinionated, to be sure, but talking about former failings and the possibility of future ones has the tendency to get fans down... I do appreciate the way you handled it, though. Another member gave me a 1, and decided not to post his reason why. If I ever come across a post that motivates me to give it such a poor rating, it is my policy of courtesy that I should reply with my explanation.
I stress the fact that my comment was not meant to be negative, though I certainly could have put more than the few seconds of thought that went into it. Once I thought about it, I realized how rare such a post was for me. Although I am a die-hard Bears fan, I like to see Detroit do well more than I do the Vikings or Packers.
Now, I haven't read this thread much, nor have I paid much attention to the dealings in Detroit, but I get the feeling that a first-round RB won't be the Lions' choice. The position has a number of servicable players, such as Bell, and the first round pick would be much better used in going after a different need. With such a deep RB class, and a first-round that is likely going to be riddled with OL picks, second-and third round runners will still have plenty of talent for a franchise to lean on. I wouldn't look at this draft with disdain, if I was a Lions fan, because I have always been the type of man to preach that faith comes before results, or something to that effect. But don't have too much faith, becuase we all do want Chicago to have the better draft...
I do wonder what Detroit's fan base thinks of taking a QB in the draft. Is Kitna your guy for the next few years?
