This is a question to any Bucknell fans: What do you think the reason is for the Bison's falling record( as in wins&losses )?

I'd personally blame it on the injuries to two of their key players, Mastropolo and Vegotsky during the season.  Mastropolo had a torn ACL and Vegotsky had a broken foot which is a big hit when two of your more experienced leaders are injured.  Also, as much as I love john griffin, he's verrrrry  inconsistent at times, I've seen a number of games where he was just off but kept firing up the shots wasting posessions. The team is young for the most part and has the defensive player of the year and the rookie of the year in conference, I think this year was supposed to be more of a rebuilding year for them, but even so they should do well in the conference tournament. Just beat Navy in triple OT, thats a good start.... now on to beat Colgate and hopefully win in the finals to make a return to the big dance.

I haven't been able to see many Bucknell games, but i have kept up with them and their record. I'm kind of 50-50 on what you said, aswindler. I think that SOME of the reason is because of the injuries, but i also think that some of it has to do with the coaching. It's not exactly the greatest.

Im sorry, but MRclutch4, that is ridiculous.  Yeah, they dont do well this season and all of a sudden the coaching is bad.  R u freaking kidding me?  The guy took you to two straight NCAA tourneys and won a game EACH TIME!  I mean come on!  You want to know why they didnt win 20 games this year is because they lost 3 starters.  McNaughton, a first team Patriot League guy, Donald Brown a 2nd teamer, and Abe Badmus a defensive player of the year.  Then, they lost Mastropaolo before the year, so they had one returning starter.  Then he comes back, and they lose another guy to an injury.  Look, you cant start blaming the coaching when things are a little down, especially when that coach has done something at the school that has never been done before.  Frankly, they probably should not have been ranked as high as they were before the season.  If they can somehow win this tournament, it would be the best coaching job that he has done.  Better than the two years they won games in the tourney.

I don't know, but you had enough to kick our fanny the other night.  That'll teach us to start celebrating with 8 seconds on the clock.

Congratulations on another win over us.  One of these days we'll crack the code for a w.

Best of luck the rest of the tourney...

UMCKfan22, i see what your saying, maybe the problem isn't the coach but we don't really look like a GREAT ncaa contending team right now. Although, i do agree with you that we did look pretty good in past years. We even got an upset here and there.

Hope we can do it again! Go Bucknell!
