Sounds GREAT to me. We are projected as a 13 on espn. That doesn't make sense to me considering Austin Peay is a 14. I don't think we will be that low, however, I do think we have a shot against Purdue. I think we can get passed the first round at least...after that...everything is icing on the cake.

Drake fan here; just wanted to wish you guys luck on Friday. Looking at your schedule and style of play, it looks like it should be a great game between two really similar teams. I hadn't heard much about WKU this year, but I'm really impressed by the resume, particularly quality of their losses. We Drake fans certainly know how tough it is to play in Carbondale, and losing by three at Gonzaga and six at Tennessee shows that the Hilltoppers can play with anyone in the nation. I'm also excited to see Courtney Lee play. Hopefully we can have a well- played game, and I really hope the winner takes down UConn in the second round.

I think there are going to be a lot of surprised skeptics tomorrow at about 1:30 real time CST. This was a great draw for WKU. I like being able to play another mid-major that is a lot like us. I know we can win if we show up and play like I know we are capable of. The thing that scares me is that it is the first time any of these players have been to the tourney. I hope they don't come out scared. We have to just settle in and play TOPS basketball. WKU by 12!!!!!

#12 seed Western Kentucky matches up well with #5 Drake. And let us not forget about the history of #5 and #12 matchups. Great job by the NCAA to put 2 Mid-Major teams against each other. Neither team are used to losing. Let's not look at Western Kentucky as some chump team either. They received votes in both AP and the Coaches Poll throughout the year, which put them around #30, just right outside the top 25. Darren Horn will have his boys ready to play. Western will be lucky to have Horn back next year. There should be plenty of job offers after 4, maybe 5 if I'm mistaken, straight 20 win seasons.

Are you blogging about how pitiful the officials are and an investigation should be launched into the very questionable calls against WKU? I feel sorry for the WKU fans that have to withstand this atrocity.

I agree circl city cha. The officiating was very poor, where most calls went to Drake. With about a minute and a half to go, Western gets a defensive rebound, where a Drake players come from behind a Hilltopper guard, where it was clearly a reach in foul but was viewed as a no call by the officials. With the game tied around 20 seconds left in the game, Western inbounds the ball, where a Drake players ran in front of a Western player on the baseline, where an offensive foul was called. Luckily Western survived that call to push the game in overtime. In the last few seconds of overtime, Drake is bailed out with 5.7 seconds left with a foul call going Drake's way, where the player didn't even have position or possession of the ball. Again, Western hits a 3 pointer at the buzzer to beat Drake and the officials.

Even though we lost a 16 point lead.....you have to admit that WKU having 'no chance' was a bit of an overstatement.
Drake had an incredible year - you guys will be tough for years. Good luck.
