sure, we won by 20...but i was disappointed in a couple things...
#1 WAY too many turnovers - they're trying to do WAY to much...just let the play develop...stop trying to force things
#2 Attendance - this is our HOME COURT!! WHERE IS EVERYONE??!!! the ones that were there were great, but 7100 for a home tournament game? that's not gonna cut it...and about 1500 of those were fans of other schools...what's going on? you showed up last year when we finished 2nd in the regular season...this year we are CO-CHAMPIONS!!!! so there should be MORE of you!...it just doesn't make sense...
maybe you'll come around...we're really gonna need your help tomorrow against Nevada...

ya it was disappointing! ton of TO's herb did horrible, the attendance was WEAK, and i'm beginning to get really worried about nevada. if we don't support our team and show up and if they don't wake up then tommorow's gonna be our last game of the year!
p.s. did anyone see me get a kiss blown to me by armon johnson at the nevada game halftime above the tunnel!? it was hilarious! i wear a "wolfpack blows" white t-shirt to every game and apparently he liked it! HAHA. marcelus kemp yelled at me "You're next!"

I agree with goaggies. I know for certain that the Utah state and boise fans there as well as the Nevada fans are all going to root against us! I was so disappointed in the attendancelast night. I will give them the benefit of the doubt Las Cruces is a smaller city and it was a weekday night so the fair weather fans get a pass this one time. WE NEED TO FILL THE PAN AM TONIGHT or Nevada will destroy NMSU again. Maybe it was just me but Javale Mcgee from Nevada is a dominant force in the middle. I only hope the rest of the team matches Justin Hawkins effort from last night. If they do we win. It really is that simple! GO AGGIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't see much of the Web cast; it came on at 3:30 a.m. my time. I didn't see much of the student section in the little bit of the game I did get. If I find out my nephew wasn't there, I will kill him. Nevada's guards will give us fits. If you thought we had high turnovers last night....
And even if we do get by Nevada, which is not a given, USU was awfully good on execution in their game (I did watch all of it, but don't call me a traitor.) BSU was unimpressive against Hawaii.
Anyway, we will probably get nothing more than a 12 seed if we make it to the dance, which gives a decent chance hooking up with a four seed, but then you would have to play a one seed. That will never happen with last night's ball control.
Justin was awesome and, better yet, unfazed by the fact that this is the tourney. If only the guys would play with a little more self assurance....
Go Aggies!!!!!!

Of course JaVale is a dominant force, have you seen the numbers this kid has put up lately. Tough to control. nbadraft.net has him going No. 12 overall in the mock draft. but i think he is going to stay at least another year. so watch out because if he does, he might be the most talented player the WAC has ever seen.

I didn't get to watch or even listen to the game, but the attendance has been pathetic for some time.
When I was at State the teams were a little better than this year's squad, but even the first year I was there, when we were excited about a 20+ win season, the student section alone would have topped last night's attendance for a typical game.
Frankly, things went downhill when the administration started worrying about how much time was being spent cleaning up the Pan Am center after games, and ESPN microphones picking up certain things yelled by the crowd in response to bad calls (the same things were said at other arenas, we were just louder). Heck, there was a time the administrative offices would leave out several 50 gallon garbage bags of shredded documents on game day so we could thrown the paper around the stands. The offices were right on the way to the Pan Am Center, so we'd pick them up on the way, and security didn't care in the least. That type of atmosphere is why it was such a feared arena, and probably contributed to a few wins for the Aggies.
As for the team's performance, it will need to be better. That said, I think a lot of the sloppy play was the result of the caliber of opponent. It's hard to be too concerned about ball control when the other team is lucky to pull within 9, and your team is capable of an 18-8 run. I expect a closer game will bring more disciplined play. For our sake I certainly hope so.

Attendence increased under Theus, but seems to be declining again. It would be interesting to see attendence plotted over time for the last four coaches.
This year the Aggies have played very sloppy against weak opponents. I saw them live against Idaho on Feb 6 and the players seemed dis-interested in the game.
How did you guys watch the game? I have an Aggie Access account but it didn't seem like they were streaming the game last night. Can I access the ESPN Full Court stream with my Aggie Access account?

better attendance tonight, but still not good enough...it was a GREAT atmosphere, but it's still sad that a game this big couldn't sell out - on a friday night...2,600 empty seats?...disappointing...
i saw the ticket lines on my way out...tomorrow WILL be SOLD OUT!!! (finally)
