Well, it doesn't matter if the team is NMSU or BSU, either team will be a one and out team in the NCAA Tourney.

Wow, you could be 50/50 on that prediction. Care to post anything interesting.
Anyone that has even heard of the NCAA tournament knows better than to rule anyone out of the first round.
Watch and enjoy, you might learn something.

You sound like a true NMSU fan. Look at the big picture, NMSU OR BSU isn't going to make any noise, especially with the 14th seed their going to get vs a strong 3rd seed team. Nevada had the talent but fell short. Next year is going to be the Wolf Packs year.

Pretty sure he's staying one more year. Or I pray to god. If he does, Nevada will stomp North Carolina in Reno and possibly wont lose a game in the WAC.

NMSU has the talent and depth and Boise has the shooters to beat ANY big team...don't rule us out until the clock says 0:00...

Sidewinder, thank you for presenting your lack of intelligence about OUR nevada wolf pack. This year was a REBUILDING year. We were picked to finish 3-4th this year in the conference. Before you open your extremely ugly trap, know what you're talking about. Thanks.

A Rebuilding year? 9 returning players + 2 redshirt, and you're claiming it was a rebuilding year? Fazekas was a great college player but to claim this is a rebuilding year because he and Sessions are gone is a pathetic excuse. This is college basketball dude, every program has Sr's departing.
Rebuilding year...
Heed your own advice skilzboy, know what you're talking about before opening your trap - you sound like a fool predicting a win over UNC and going undefeated against the WAC next year.

I disagree NMSU is very capable of pulling off a first round upset. In December they went to Louisville and played a tough game falling by only five points. Louisville is a projected three seed and on a neutral court NMSU very well could pull the upset.

I have no delusions that ANY team in the WAC is likely to make it beyond the first round. Of course 1/2 of the teams in the tournament don't make it past the first round, so it's not like making such a statement takes much courage.
If history teaches us anything, it's that there will be upsets. And, historically, it will be 12 seeds that have the biggest upsets. Once you get beyond the top 2-3 seeds in each region, the rest are all very vulnerable.
It's not likely, but it could happen. And any team that has put away it's most recent opponents by an average of over 20 during the clutch time at the end of the season is not to be taken lightly.

If NMSU makes the tournament and gets matched up with a favorable opponent, I am calling an upset. This team has come on strong of late, and finally has all its pieces despite being decimated by injuries and suspensions. What separates them from all the other mid majors is their inside nucleus- Martin Iti, Passos, and Herb Pope. These guys could all contribute by locking down some major squads. Most teams do not have that sort of power inside. Then, throw in Justin Hawkins and Fred Peete on the perimeter- no to mention the other talented role players- and you have yourself a potential upset pick imo. It honestly depends who they are matched up against. If they get a favorable, inexperienced three seed like a Purdue, I can see a chance. Otherwise, they may be an extreme long shot. But, I still think they have the best chance of any potential 14 seed to pull and upset. Still, this is assuming they beat Boise St tonight.

just curious - why do u call us 'thuggies'?
a THUG is 'violent, aggressive, cruel, and vicious' and 'tend to look for, or cause trouble' according to the dictionary...
they had an unpaid traffic ticket, an indescent exposure, and a DUI...yes, the were VERY STUPID actions, but they're NOT thugs...they're not out causing trouble, picking fights with people, etc...

Your program is filled with tainted recruits. Therefore I call them the Thuggies. Go to wolfpackchat.com. I'm being nice compared to most other people's reference's to your team.

SkiLz2Brn,
Call us what you like, it does not offend me. I just like to see exciting college basketball. Our program is squeaky clean compared to what it was like under Neil McCarthy.
Good clean rivalry's are hard to come by, but I think the one between NMSU and Nevada is shaping up nicely. Nothing wrong with passing bragging rights back and forth.
