Beasley is really the only one out of the bunch mentioned by Parrish who is truly ready. He is a man among boys. The rest need at least another year of honing their skills. As far as the Big 10 goes, it was basic lip service. Eric Gordon has lately shown himself to be late first round to early second round material. He needs to hang on to the Lloyds of London insurance policy at least another year. Mentioning Hummel, however, is a joke. That kid is a terrific college player and inspirational leader for his team, but right now wouldn't be a star in the D league, let alone the NBA.

Love's doing well in college, but I can't help but wonder how he'd fare in the NBA. He strikes me as being awfully slow, which could be a liability if the league continues to move towards more of the full court offense that was started by the Suns and is now being run with success by the Rockets.

Get over it... Gordon is not staying no matter how many message boards IU fans post this on. Even if hes not ready to play, he is ready to get paid.

You right on with Beasley, but missed it with Gordon, read your words in a couple of years and laugh at yourself. Gordon led the Big Ten in scoring and granted fell off with the loss of his mentor (overzealous cellphone user) at years end. He has the tools to make impact at the next level. Look at Kevin Durant and Seattle which doesn't mean Kevin won't make his mark in the NBA with a couple years of experience. Watch Wisconsin destroy KSTATE in second round of the show....

There is no way that Gordon is going to fall to a late first round or early second round pick! most have him projected in the top 5 and almost every sports analyst has him in at the very most the top 10. Yes he has turnover issues and sure, he would probably benefit from another year in college but the only reason he went to college was so he could go to the pros and there is no way he stays. He won't shock the NBA with dominance the first year or two but he will definitely become one of the better players in the league.

I agree with you that Beasly is ready and Gordon is not but there is also another player who is ready who is OJ Mayo. The kid is amazing, i could see him taking the Trojans to the Sweet 16 which would be great for the school. You will also be seeing Mayo next year in the NBA competing with Beasly for Rookie of the Year.

Yeah, it's pretty much a given that Beasley, Gordon, Rose & Mayo are all entering the draft. All should have great NBA careers. There is no way any of these four players return to college next year.
I could see Kevin Love going either way. He will probably enter the draft, but I don't think this is definite yet. The other two frosh that are more than likely gone after this year is Jerryd Bayless & DeAndre Jordan. They will both be lottery picks and I doubt they will pass that up.
There are several other frosh that could be 1st round picks if they decide to come out. These guys are Donte Green, Anthony Randolph, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Kosta Koufos, Patrick Patterson & Davon Jefferson. I've reard reports that Griffin, Harden & Patterson will most likely return to school. The other guys might leave.

I have seen Gordon play maybe half a dozen times this year, and if he is one of the top picks in the draft, then the NBA is in sorry shape. He disappears in games even at the college level, and ought to play at least another year, but I am quite certain he takes the money some stupid team is willing to throw at him and takes the jump.
