I'm finishing my brackets at this late hour, and I already have Clemson beating Villanova and Vanderbilt.  Now I'm stuck.  Clemson has a lot going for it, but Kansas might be the best team I've watched all year.

Without jinxing your team's first-round game, someone tell me why I should pick Clemson to advance past Kansas and perhaps into the Final Four.  I know about the close calls with UNC (2-1 instead of 0-3 would have earned you a #2 seed).  I'm just looking for some genuine insight from someone who has watched Clemson closely all season.

Thanks.

Because of our tough full court press defense which results in points of turnovers, improved FT shooting, athleticism, and experience in tough conference games.  I don't know if this will be enough or not, but my heart tells you to pick the Tigers.  Go Tigers!

The Tigers are athletic, long, have a deep bench, and are well coached.  We led the ACC in steals due to a smothering full court press.  Good half court defense as well, booker is a beast in the paint; really gave hansboro problems in the ACC final.  Just like the Duke in the ACC semis; if you live by the three you die by the three, but good defense rarely has a bad night.  Good senior leadership in Cliff Hammonds, set Clemson record with 125 straight starts, and has 4.0 GPA.  Second ranked scoring offense in ACC.  Balanced with five players averaging > 10pts/game.

Thanks, folks.  What I've seen of Clemson this year I've really liked.  But I'm struggling with the potential Kansas matchup and also Tennessee-Louisville, two teams I've watched plenty.

What I've seen and read of the Tigers more or less mirrors your comments, which help validate my own opinion, whatever it's worth.

As a superstitious sports fan I am not going to comment on any game other than the next one.  however, the question you have to ask in any game we play is do you think the opponent has enough ball handlers to break our press.  North Carolina was able to get easy baskets in the final in transition by handling the pressure.
