How many things actually do live up to they hype? Didn't this happen with Clausen at Notre Dame just a year ago? Look at how he did his first year. Maybe with some superb coaching (which he has) can mold him into the hype. That is if these kids who have been hyped so much care what the coaches have to say. Making such high expectations for young kids leaves no place to go but down. And then you add into the mix that if he doesn't fit in with the system, then he flounders again. How many duel threat QB's have thrived in the NFL and gone on to be a good team leader and lead their teams to SuperBowl titles and even the playoffs? There aren't many. Vince Young and Michael Vick sure haven't got the job done yet.

There are a lot of strikes against overhyped QBs in this marvelous sport. Let them be kids and just play the game without rushing them into the limelight before they have even been seen on the field at this level.

You know what blows my mind? this guy is 6-6, 235ibs, and runs a 4.4 40. He and his team won the State Football title, then he and his team win the State Basketball title. If you know anything about Sports, specifically football, you know that his accomplishments are pretty good. This guy showed he could still concentrate on winning the state basketball title while the media is hounding him every day. Now thats handling pressure. This guy is going to be a part of a team that is already stocked with NFL talent, so his head won't be swollen. All these past aces you guys bring up that didn't live up to the hype are no where NEAR the athlete and don't have half the accolades that this guy has. I am a die hard Buckeye fan true enough, however I would not be one of those fans that would say, if he chose another school, "I'm glad he didn't come here." "He is over rated, blah blah blah blah blah!" These bloggers don't know anything about sports, athletic ability and most of all football. Tim Tebow is 3 inches shorter, 15 pounds lighter and runs a 4.7 40. Oh, and by the way, didn't he just win the heisman? I hate Florida and Tim Tebow (I'm a hater!) But you can't deny he did it. Michigan keeps talking about some great tradition of QB's. Who? Other than Brady, who by the way was picked, what,  344th in the draft or something like that?  Who else? Griese? Are you kidding me? Grbac? Harbaugh? Come on guys, these guys may have made the NFL, but they sucked!!!!!! I'll give you Brady, but that wasn't expected. Let the kid get enrolled and let's see what happens. Like Jim Rome said "Stop hating" This kid deserves the props he's getting. Ohio State is a great football school. 5 BCS Bowl games in the last 6 years. 3 National Championship appearences winning one. In the 2003 NFL draft Ohio St. broke the record held by ND by having more players drafted in one draft than any other school in History. and Second only to Miami for having the most ever taken in the first round. And were not even going to get into history that dates back to the World Wars. Florida's history goes back to maybe Desert Storm. and LSU, maybe back to 9/11. The kid made the right choice. Just sit back and watch what happens. I think your going to be impressed!

I hope I will be impressed. If he lives up to the hype, then I will be. It has been said about the others that there are no others that are as good of an athlete too. I just don't buy it until I see something on the field.

Don't feed us the Heisman as an indicator of anything either. When was the last Heisman trophy winner to do something significant in the NFL? That award goes to those who have been part of a system that allows them to put up lots of stats to look good. Too many college players are products of systems and could not make it as standouts in the NFL.

That is why they are supposed to be students first.

I think you're wrong Buckeye.  I think the hype that this kid is getting is way too big for him and I don't think he does deserves the props as of yet.  The number of kids going to major Div I football programs aren't coming from Class AA schools.  The competition level at Class AA is not as it is in Class 3A or 4A.  To compare him to Tebow doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me either as Tebow had many of his TD runs inside of 3 yards...who couldn't do that when you weigh 240?  Tebow won the Heisman by default.  Brennan played a weak schedule, McFadden had his bad games and was on a losing team, and White and Dixon got hurt.  I'm an OSU fan at times, but I'm not a fan of Pryor just yet.  His arrogance has turned me against him and yea I know the media has made it worse, but I believe he knew where he was going the entire time...he just wanted to milk it or wait until the gift exchange was finalized.  Does anyone know how educated this kid is?  His press conference wasn't impressive and all I've heard is him talk about delaying his decision to commit due to his BB playoffs...where in there is the mention of his education?  Will he even make the grades to remain w/ the team?

OK CALL TO ALL IDIOT POSTERS!!!!!!!!

If Pryor were a spoiled child who just wanted the lime light and wanted the center of attention THEN WHY DID HE GO TO OHIO STATE???  All your comments hold no logic to his decision.  Everyone on ESPN says that OSU needs him the LEAST out of every school.  Ohio State has a senior QB who will start this year.  If Pryor only cared about being the top dog then he would have gone to Michigan where he could start right away at the nations all time leading in wins school.  The press would give us Pryor updates every single game he played and he would be called the RR saviour.

Everyone knows that RR and spread offenses do not work out with putting people in the NFL.  Michigan IN THE PAST put alot of QBs and WRs in the NFL.  NOT ANYMORE!  Welcome Dick Rod and his system!  Hope you like the new coach!

Instead he goes to the school who doesnt need him where he will not start.  Looks like he cares more about WINNING than he does about being the top dog.  Zwick came out of highschool as the #1 recruit and he hardly ever played at OSU.  OSU has other QB choices if Pryor doesnt pan out and Pryor KNOWS that.  He wont start his freshmen year and he will have competition from Henton off the bench.  WOW what an interesting situation for a kid who only cares about being in the limelight to put himself in.

Looks like Pryor would actually rather play for a program ranked in the top 5 five out of the last six years instead of going to start and be the top dog right away.  What a selfish ego-maniac!!!

Have fun in a 2007 Notre Dame type year Michigan!  They might actually beat you this year! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
