I wish Coach Self let most of the starters rest a little bit more.  The way they play so aggressively, they will need the legs in the later rounds; even in two days with Clemson.  Clemson is very athletic and will stress the KU legs.  Also, Portland State coach has a great name, 'Ken Bone'.

We actually play the winner of UNLV and Kent St. As of now, it looks like we might be playing UNLV. A bummer, since I had Kent St winning. After that game, then we play Clemson.

I do think at least for the first round and part of the second we should play the reserves more. Yes, the game won't look as ugly and us as powerful, but it would pay off and work to our advantage once we get to the Elite 8 and on.

I think we were on cruise control most of the second half.  I think he wants to keep them on the court as long as possible in these situations.

KU won't play Clemson in two days.  Looks like it'll be UNLV if they keep it up in the second half against Kent State.

heheh, Ken Bone not only has a great name, he's a very good coach.  He was the head coach at Seattle Pacific University for a number of years and spent the 4 seasons prior to heading to Portland State as an assistant at the University of Washington, including the Huskies' year as a #1 seed in the tourney.  He was widely respected as an assistant at UW.  Portland State has been a Division I school for 12 years and prior to this season had never reached the conference tourney championship game, much less the NCAAs.  In less than 3 seasons Bone has turned a losing program into a conference champ and NCAA tournament team.  If he were a few years younger (he's 48, i think), I'd say that he was in pace for coaching at a large program someday.

I'm a Washington alum and I'm proud to see Ken doing so well.  Congrats to Portland State for a great season.

I do not think that Bill self is going to play a lot of his bench. I think that Ku wants to win it all and bill is going to play his starters for just about the whole game. Remember a lot of people are doubting Bill self as a coach and KU players for being good in the Season but busting out in the Tourney. SO I think we are going to see a lot of startings playing.

Honestly, I picked Vanderbilt over Clemson, and my mom chose Nova over Clemson. I don't think they are a lock to play us.

Clemson is a "lock" to play KU because of how "superior" the ACC is.  Its a complete and total joke.  They are good but are they that good?

How good to do those teams have to be to not leave their own state and still make the Final Four every year?  North Carolina not having to leave the state until the Final Four is absolutely ridiculous.  The year that KU can play in Topeka, Wichita and then the finals in Kansas City is the same year the tournament honks pull their collective heads out of the ACC's lap.
