They'll end up with 1,2, or 3. I have a feeling they're going to go on another winning streak. I doubt they'll catch the Lakers with the Lakers relatively easy schedule (at least comparably). New Orleans has a tough schedule too. Either way the top 3 seeds will be LA, SA, N.O.(in some order). With the Suns, Jazz, Rockets filling in the middle spots.

My guess for the Spurs is either a 2 or 3 seed. and if even if they fall to 6 as mentioned in the article seeds aren't going to be that important with the 8 teams all bunched together so closely. almost every team has winning record on the road anyway.

The tiebreakers are going to be interesting. And teams could rise or fall spots on the final day. It's gonna be crazy in the West.

My guess is they'll be the best 5 seed in league history. I like the Spurs, Lakers, Suns and Mavericks (depending on if Nowitzki) is healthy to all advance. Higher seeds like New Orleans, Houston and Utah just don't have the dominant big men to beat a Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudamire, angry Dirk Nowitzki or Kobe Bryant.

Chris Paul is great, better than Steve Nash this year, but Amare and Shaquille O'Neal are much better than David West and Tyson Chandler.

I'm gonna go with a 1 or 2 seed. Call me crazy......here's why.

As of 25 March, 2008, here's what's the contending teams have left.

Hornets.- They only have 4 outta 14 games remaining @ home. 7 games vs. +500 teams.

Rockets- only 4 outta 11 games remaining @ home

Lakers- Pau Gasol is out for at least another week, and when he comes back they (Lakers) might be outta sink for a few games which could lead to some possible loses.

Suns- only 5 outta 12 games reamaning @ home 9 games vs.+500 teams.

Mavericks- Stick a fork in'em

Spurs- 7 outta 12 games remaining @ home 8 games vs. +500 teams

I think the Lakers will not lose any ground but I do see the other 3 possibly losing ground and the Spurs capitalizing on it. I think the Spurs will end up being the #2 seed behind the Lakers.

GO SPURS GO!!!

This is my prediction:
  • 1 - LA
  • 2 - SA
  • 3 - NO
  • 4 - Utah
  • 5 - Hou
  • 6 - Pho
  • 7 - GS
  • 8 - Den
With Dirk out - Dallas hits the lottery!
