How about a Quatrterback who isn't Michael Vick with a wonky delivery. I know a million people are going to come in here and say all he does is win, but no matter how many times you say it, it doesn't make it true. To compete in that division you need a solid accurate passer and Vince Young will never ever be that.

Let me start by saying I have no particular attachment to Vince Young or the Titans. I don't care if they win or lose - I just don't think that Pawn No Longer's statements were very instructive as they're not indicative of the credit that a good young player deserves.
-----
Vince Young played last year as a young QB who didn't have a whole lot of weapons but made the most of what he had.
First of all, his WR corps didn't have any home run threats with Justin Gage and Roydell Williams being 2 players who could be considered #2 or #3 type receivers being their best options. Other then those two, though the WR corps is very thin and although the TE group did alright in the receiving department (Bo Scaife had 46 receptions for 421 yards, Ben Hartstock had 12 receptions for 138 yards) they weren't huge weapons for the Titans.
Despite this Young ranked:
- 16th in completion percentage - meaning that despite passing to players with lesser receiving skills he still showed as being relatively accurate.
- 17th in total yards passing - despite missing 1.5 games due to injury
So give him some weapons and see what he can do - as you're not likely to find too many QBs out there that can out do him before he adds in what he can do with his feet.

Sounds like the same argument I used to make for Byron Leftwich. Turned out he just sucks. David Garrard came in with the same talent and went to the playoffs. The Titans won't ever win with Vince Young. Jeff Fisher knew it and didn't want to draft him in the first place. The Titans will struggle this year.

The hype, the expectations, he will never live up to it because no one will ever let him. For the critics there will always be something "wrong" with him.
First off the WR core. God its bad. Denver game had more drops than any team I've ever seen. And they were all WR faults, not VY and his "sloppy passing". B. Jones didn't catch the possible clutch ball at the end of the first Colts game that could have put Bironas on the field to win. Albeit it was a high pass but WR's still have to make those catches.
NORM CHOW IS AN IDIOT. There is no other way to say it. He failed to use Young correctly. Heimerdenger who help made McNair a great passer, will now let the reins go off of Vince Young and make him into a better player.
I sense playoffs, albeit ot being a Wildcard again, and until Peyton retires, the Colts will always hold 1st place here.

I think you're right in saying you need a solid and accurate passer, but I also think you need to give Vince Young a chance to be that. The Byron Leftwich comparison isn't the greatest because Leftwich was like an anchor in the pocket while Young has plenty of evasive abilities. They do have the "wonky" delivery in common though. The question with Michael Vick was always if he could take his team to the next level. Vince Young has helped bring this team from mediocre to a solid playoff team with little in the way of weapons. Now let's see if he can take them to the next level given some weapons. True, he could turn into the next Michael Vick, but he could also turn into a more hybrid evasive quarterback. We'll see, but I think you gotta give him a chance. He's still pretty young.

VY is not the Titan's major issue. I'll grant you he needs to improve but how can you judge him until he has weapons. That being said, I'll contradict myself and take the position that the Titans biggest need is defense with the losses to free agency. Unless, they can trade up to get DeSean Jackson or he falls to them, I would draft DE / DT.
At a minimum defense will keep you in games with a chance to win.

Young's first two years are 8-8 and 10-6 with a playoff berth in a very tough division. With basically very little offensive weapons. What do you want with this guy and the team. Robo QB or winners. The guy gets the job done. Who cares about his delivery.
The bottom line is the guy is entering his 3rd year and has improved from the 1st. He had a 62% completion rate. What do you want, 70% for more accuracy? This guy is going to improve with more weapons. Crumpler is a start. Drafting a WR is the next step.

Yeah for real. Give VY a break. I guess ppl have forgot that last year was only his 2nd year in the league and the 1st season where he has been the unquestioned starter. What did yall expect, oh he won the national championship at Texas so he is supposed to come in and light the National Football League up and win a Super Bowl by his 2nd season. Granted he did have a bad year last year but he is still learning and Chow's system is a college system not one for the NFL. And plus he didn't use VY for his strengths. Dinger is now in charge of the offense and I have a feeling he will know how to use VY as he did with Air McNair! And plus he has to have somebody to throw to that will actually catch the ball! Draft Sweed only in the 1st round if he is there, if not go with DEF with Groves, Campbell, Balmer, or Mayo then get Doucet, Jordy Nelson, or even Earl Bennett in the 2nd round then get a Steve Slaton (change of pace type back) or Kevin Smith in the later rounds!

Right now the Titans win or lose games based on their defense not Young. I hate it when Yoing is given credit for winning games. He can go 3 quarters and only get a field goal, then in 4th fourth quarter the defense will score a TD and he will finally get them in the end zone and the Titans will win like 17-13 and vince becomes this great winner.
Having said that, I have seen some great things from him as well has some really poor play. I think he has shown enough to let him have another year or two to see if he can become more consistent. The Titans should NOT go QB in this draft.
