Why is it that when I watched the movie "Rocky Balboa" the annoncers never referenced that the Italian Stallion was linked to an ongoing government  probe of steroid and HGH use in professional boxing?

The people up in arms about drug use in baseball have some weird idea that this professional sport somehow used to be 'clean'. Just not so, folks. It's entertainment at the professional level. Yes, they are the best athletes in baseball today, the best teams, but it's never been a 'clean' game. With gambling, spitballs, drug use (not just steroids), the game has had a whole lot of stories in its history. That's reality, folks.

So the powers that be should just throw up their arms and avoid anything to try and clean up the game?

It's true that it may have never been a clean game, but I am all for them trying to make the game as clean as possible. I do not think its likely baseball..or any sport will ever be able to enforce things in a way that it becomes clean - but they have to  keep trying before the problem gets even worse.

Doc Ellis admitted to taking LSD on the very day he pitched a no-hitter against San Diego in 1970. Drug use is no stranger to Major League Baseball.  Great comment Alaney2k.

Cheating has always been a part of baseball, like it or not .  Cheating seems also to have been a part of pro football as well.  What about it, Bill?
