Kemba Walker played in the mcdonalds all american game last night.  He had a respectable showing, scoring 13 points, including a sick dunk over some dude from the west squad.  ESPN has Kemba ranked at #2 pg, and #9 overall recruit coming out of high school this year.  If(when) A.J. Price comes back from his injury next season at less than 100%, Kemba should be able to fill in.  That is, if Calhoun gives him any playing time with Craig Austrie, Jerome Dyson, and Donell Beverly clogging up the back court.  Even if he only gets limited minutes his first year, the back court will be all his the following year due to graduation of Price and Dyson.  I am excited to see what this kid can do.

your right, my bad.  I wrote that post in a hurry earlier.  Also throw Doug Wiggins in to the back court mix.

I'd say based on Calhoun's recent comments Wiggins will probably transfer.  Unfortunately Uconn has too many guards with Austrie, Dyson, Beverly, Wiggins, Price and now Walker.  Someone is going to be left out in terms of PT so I could see at least Wiggins and/or Beverly leaving.

haha considering AJ has already stated before the big east tournament that he was going to come back, this injury insures that he will come back. No team would even waste a 2nd rd pick on him since they don't know how he will perform coming off this injury. I also believe that atleast 2 maybe 3 of the group of kelly, thabeet, wiggins, bev, mandeldove will not be on the uconn roster next year.

WIGGINS,BEVERLEY,KELLY,WILL ALL BE GONE. WIGGINS AND BEVERLEY WILL BE A GREAT ADDITION TO SOMEONE ELSES ROSTER. KELLY HAS POTENTIAL. MANDELDOVE ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE, HE DID A GOOD JOB IN HIS SHORT STINTS THIS YEAR AND I THINK WILL SHOW A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT NEXT YEAR. THABEET MAY GO FOR FINANCIAL REASONS , BUT IT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS TO ANYONE THAT HE NEEDS MORE TIME IN COLLEGE TO HELP FULFILL HIS POTENTIAL. LOSING THABEET WILL NOT HURT UCONN THAT MUCH. THEY PROBABLY WOULD ACTUALLY BECOME A BETTER DEFENSIVE TEAM WITHOUT HIM. THAT BEING SAID , HE SEEMS TO BE A WONDERFUL KID AND SHOULD BE WELCOMED BACK IF THAT IS HIS CHOICE.

assuming thabeet leaves, i expect uconn to run out a lot of smaller (3 guard) lineups next year.  i could see calhoun starting gavin edwards at center and then pulling him out 5 minutes into the game  for a guard like he used to do with hilton armstrong (before senior yr).  if i know calhoun he will start the seniors austrie and price at guard, but i expect dyson and kemba to get as many if not more minutes than austrie, and to see three of them in the game at the same time with stanley and adrien often

The backcourt rotation is set with Price and Austrie starting with Dyson and Walker coming off the bench. Wiggins and Kelly are gone but won't affect the team's success. Walker is special player, very steady ballhandler and a penetrator UCONN has lacked. You will see Price & Walker finishing most games next year. Price will be back in time for the first practice. He's a tough kid. UCONN will be fine.

The middle one is the best, but Kemba Walker is nasty.
