I really don't get it. Maybe Hernandez has to go. Nate was cruising through the first 3 innings. Two cheap hits, 5 strikouts. He looked untouchable. He struck out Big Pappy to start the4th and then all of a sudden 'poof' he lost it. 46 pitches later the 4th was history, so was Nate, so was Detroit.. What the hell is up with that? I don't think Jimbo or Chuck even paid a visit to the mound. Has everyone thrown in the towel???
Well I'm glad I was wrong! Tiggers get another W ... but not much thanks to Nate The Great. 4 ER in 6-1/3 .... sucks. He did manage to get the ERA all the way down to 7.02, though. It was his best outing so far, but he got lucky and the late Tigger bats bailed him out of a loss. WHIP is still 1.56, too.
Why are you so concerned with your #5 starter. I'd worry about the 1-4 starters. Two of them have ERAs over 7 and have a combined record of 2-8. If you want to make Robertson your whipping boy, that's your choice. But shouldn't even higher standards be given Verlander, Bonderman, Rogers, and Willis?
How much did Dombrowski know and when did he know it?
I've been a Tiger fan since 67, through the good and bad and I agree with Mud, he's average at best and sucks on his bad days (which seen to be more frequent of late)..I think they just keep hoping he turns into something. I say keep him with MUD...the MUDHENS, that is....and use as possible trade bait.

A - Because this thread is now titled "Nate (sucks BTW) Robertson - is a BUM"
B - "Nate The Great", "innings-eater" extraordinaire - 6.64 ERA; 11.51 H per 9IP; 1.55 WHIP; 5.81 IP/GS.
C - Because the Tiggers would be better off in the long run if they bring up their BEST bush-leaguer and let him lose while learning to pitch better. Nate has hit the downslope from 30 & can't/won't pitch any better than his only non-horrific season.
D - I am worried about 1-4, but that is not of this thread. Gambler needs to be retired, I hate to say. Willis has started twice - DL. Bondo is actually not pitching that badly (4.17 ERA), except walking far more batters (5.49 per 9IP) than usual for him. Armando Galarraga has started 5 gms w /3.07 ERA - not bad at all. Verlander is having his worst stretch as a big-leaguer ... but he's a proven winner & will snap out of it eventually.
Roberson over the years has not been the most reliable for a win but, he is definetly the most reliable for getting out on the mound and pitching. Over the years the Tigers pitchers have been suffering from many injuries which has made the Tigers go deep in their farm system. The injury comment goes for almost all the starters except for Roberstson. Over the last 4 years he has made at least 30 starts. He is probably the #5 man in the rotaion but, everyone knows he is going to be out their pitching his best. His numbers have also gotten better over the years making him more reliable for the win.
