Great coach, average/medicore recruiter of late.. Duke needs to land an NBA ready type A-Big Man or forward to compete today, I look at the final four and Memphis especially and most of those players are tall and super athletic, Duke seems very soft compared to the teams in the Final Four. Sure Davidson wasn't too big or athletic but Duke doesn't have a Guard who scores 30 points on any given night either.

Since Duke's loss I have since cooled off. I agree with everything Bears4ever said. Duke would get crushed by the final 4 teams right now. How slow does Paulus seem compared to Collison, Rose, Augustin etc. They are just better teams right now.

Paulus is worthless if his threes can't fall because all and all as a Point Guard he has nothing on Hurley, Wojo or J-Will.
I hope Elliott Williams can play point, Duke doesn't need another SG, they need a true Duke Blue PG. But Alas he wont play that position while Nolan and Greg are on the floor.
I hope Singler gets buff next season like his good buddy Kevin Love, how bout it Kyle, ready to pack on some pounds?

<p> I wouldn't call Coach K an average/medicore recruiter as his last three recruiting classes all have been ranked in the top 10: 2005 (2nd), 2006 (4th), and 2007 (6th). I know it means nothing what these rankings are, but it is not like he's signing no-names. These are big-time recruits who haven't lived up to their billing.</p>

I dont think it's exactly Coach K's fault that they cant land any solid big men, it's not like he hasnt tried (altho I wish he hadnt denied Blair), he did go after Monroe and is pursueing Riek, and a few in the 09 class, big men just dont wanna go there, and quite frankly, can you blame them? LEARNING POST MOVES FROM WOJO, WHAT THE HELL?

By all means I'm sure COach K's "strategy" isn't ignoring big men. As stated before we went after Greg Monroe, we went after Patrick Patterson, and we went after John Riek, they just didnt work out. Brian Zoubek was a borderline All-American, and Lance THomas was an All-American I believe. We've done what we could as far as recruiting big men is concerned but we havent had a solid big man here since Carlos Boozer, and with that tradition, or lack thereof, why wouldnt a big man go to Georgetown?? Basically, I dont think Coach K is strategizing to go after only guards, the man is a genious, were just in a tough recruiting cycle with people only planning on staying a year or two...its hurting the entire game of College BBall, not just Duke.

Since Carlos Boozer? Are you forgetting about "The Landlord" Sheldon Williams? If I remember correctly, he was a 1st team All-American. He blocked shots, rebounded, and scored plenty
