Does anyone know if Campbell is coming back for another year? He has one more year of eligibility. He redshirted his frosh year at Ft. Wayne, and then played one year, and then sat out one year when he transferred to Butler, and then played for BU the last two years. So he still has one more year left in him technically.

If not, Butler still looks pretty good. A solid Butler team could again be a "ranked" team by the time Howard, Vanzant, and Hahn are juniors (with Veasley and Jukes as seniors, plus any and all recruits that have been attracted to BU by the last two impressive Butler Basketball seasons...)

I think that Campbell sacraficed a year of eligibility the year he transfered he will probobly play overseas like two of his uncles did. Butler will not have a team as good as this year for a while

Here is the A.P. All State Indiana high school teams with the college/university they are committing to in 2008-2009. Butler nabbed one from each team:

1st Team
Tyler Zeller - North Carolina
Garrett Butcher - Butler
Zach Novak - Michigan
Julius Mays - NC State
DeShaun Thomas - Ohio State

2nd Team
Julian Mavunga - Miami(OH)
Gordon Hayward - Butler
Braydon Hobbs - Bellarime
Kyle Kuric - Louisvile
Randy Davis - Ball State

3rd Team
Chase Stigall - Butler
Tyler Koch - 2009 Undecided
Derek Elston - Indiana
Zavier Sanders - 2008 Undecided
Larry Stone - IUPUI

Butler has 3 more recruits who are getting a lot of buzz on fan message boards, by the names of Jeremie Simmons, Shelvin Mack, and DeAndre Cranston... I don't know much about them, other than Mack was being recruited by Kentucky and Tennessee, and that Simmons and Cranston would be transfer students from junior colleges.

There are also rumors floating around about this supposed 4-star recruit from Cali that is considering Butler as one of his top 7 schools. Here is a link to this recruit:
Lorne Jackson

zombieidolatry,

That is good news about the players from the high school teams. Any of the Indiana boys we can retain would be good. I have heard good things about Cranston...as for the others, I will have to look into them. I must say the future looks very bright for Butler basketball in the coming years.

Nice post.

Here is a link to an article on Butler's two newest recruits:

Mack and Nored join BU 2008-2009 squad

Shelvin Mack was being recruited by Kentucky and Tennessee and Ronald Nored had originally decided to play for Western Kentucky, but when the coach changed, he signed with Butler. These two guys look like truly great recruits.

Add those two to the three of the top 15 Indiana high school players of this year that are also going to BU in the Fall (Gordon Hayward, Garrett Butcher, and Chase Stigall) and you have an impressive freshman class coming in!

With Avery Jukes, Willie Veasley, Zach Hahn, Shawn Vanzant, and of course, MATT HOWARD, Butler will have a great season this Fall.

Go Dawgs!
