lol, do some research buddy.

  1. all of Western Kentucky's best players are leaving
  2. There were rumbles that he was on the hot seat at WKU this year
  3. He's getting payed more
  4. Although SC went 15-18 they had 18 games decided by 7 points or less and 11 games decided by 3 or less.
  5.  They were weak in the post last year and this year they'll be bringing in the 113 ranked player in this year's class. A 6'8" 250lb PF.
  6. Point guard Devan Downey will be a Jr next year, led the SEC in points most of the season (finished 3rd), set an SEC single season steals record with 103, and averaged over 5 assists a game.
  7. The only Senior next year that will be a factor is Zam Fredrick, the majority of the team will be Jr's and Sophomores
  8. He'll have 3 (not including Downey) great 3 point shooters.
  9. The team is built perfectly for what he wants to do
  10. and finally if you say the SEC East is too tough, all he'd need is a couple wins against the Florida's, the Tennessee's, and the Vanderbilt's. The west is weak, and in a big time conference you get more respect from the committee
very simply put

he's no idiot, he's making a great move

at SC they'd be happy just to make the tourney so he's not coming in with a ton of pressure

WOW WKY is losing it's best players and head coach. Looks like it's going to be a while before WKY wins the Sun Belt again.

Very good analogy. You can not blame the Coach for seeking to improve his resume. A college coach is only a stepping stone for a college player (well, most of them). They are there with aspirations of making the NBA. After the money, why should a good Coach not seek to improve his and his families life style as well.

Does it suck for WKU.........Yes. Will he do well at South Carolina...........Yes.

If I had the opportunity to get a higher paying job, for doing exactly the same thing...........I would be completely ignorant for not going for it.

Good Luck Coach Horn & the Toppers in finding a suitable replacement.

Yep. Everything else aside, coaching in the SEC is big. The money is big too, but even if you do mediocre in the SEC you can take your pick of jobs in most other conferences after that. Wish he could have stayed but maybe WKU will get to be known as a stepping stone for young coaching talent, then when they win championships with other schools, like Felton did in the SEC this year, Western can say yep, he used to coach here.
