I just looked at ESPNs College Basketball Recruiting rankings and Yancy Gates and Cashmere Wright are both rated near the top ten for their position. They are 4 star recruits, described as having All-America potential. Being from Cincinnati, I know Gates was good, but, I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about Wright, because of the small school he plays for. But sites like ESPN have access to scouts and coaches who have seen these kids play in AAU and other summer leagues, as well. Apparently, they think Wright can really play.

If you add Gates, Wright, and Mike Williams to Deonta Vaughn next year, I can see the 2008-2009 Cats being a definite upgrade from this year. I think Mick is a very good game coach and, now that he has legitimate Big East talent, I'm hoping we can at least get back to the NCAA next year.

The sun is starting to break though the clouds in Bearcatland!

Don't forget all the 4 stars we got last year that played in their first year this year. Trust me I'm happy to see the 4 stars. Two years ago our best was a 1 or 2 star.

i cant wait

i want to throw it up right now and play!

we should be able to score alot more this year. also dont forget about nick aldridge the transfer.

we were deep this year but no one really step up, this year when we go to the bench we will be able to bang in the paint and have an inside game. this to me is what we need the most.to score in the paint and be able to play in the paint.

does anyone have any info on alvin? wonder if he will b back. i dont think he will make or break us, its just nice to have talent up and down the bench.

on a side note here, im really happy that we are talking about the future of are program, and not the past. the last thing i want is to become like i.u., and still be talking about past coaches. i mean they threw a kid out of the student section for wearing  a shirt that said bring bobby (knight)back.

one bearcat nation under one coach

go mick and go cats

Xavier will be good again, but, with both teams adjusting to new point guards, I see us taking them at the Shoe, and improving Mick's record to 2-1 over the Mouseketeers.

Yancy Gates got moved up to 5-Stars a week or two ago.  Williams and Gates will dominate in the frontcourt next year.  Vaughn will be a playmaker who will set up Williams and Gates beautifully.  Wright will fit in nicely under Vaughn.  We will make a run in the Big East Tournament, and maybe even the NCAA.  The sun really is starting to break through the clouds in Bearcatland.
