64 seniors comprise the 8 teams of 8 players for the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Randy was not one of them. He went from being one of 30 college basketball invitees for the Pan Am game last summer, to not even making the top 64 this year. Who is to blame for this? Did players like Shaw and Bone keep Falker from improving more, and therefore remaining one of the top 30 college players? Who knows? Either way it is truly a shame and mistake he is not getting the chance to prove himself by playing against all good players with other good players.

As much as I love SIU..the last two years mr. faulker has not shown his upperclassmen stripes. he has been a big dissapointment late in games..not making free throws, fouling out, missing easy buckets..as much as i like him i dont think he deserves and invite..sorry

Has not shown his stripes?  C'mon!  What games have you been watching?  The guy is an undersized post player who gets by on athleticism and a ton of heart.  And there is no doubt he should be among the top 64 seniors.  I guarantee you he will get a longer look by the NBA than many of those players who were invited.

Maybe he didn't have the senior season many of us were hoping for, but much of that had to do with the lack of a good supporting cast.  How many games was Falker double and triple teamed because the opponents had no fear of Tyrone Green and the Salukis horrible outside shooting?  Where was the one dimensional and often erratic Joshua Bone when Falker was being triple teamed?  When is that bonehead Clemmons going to step up and become the player Lowry keeps saying he can be?  It didn't happen this year ('cept against Western Kentucky).  Let's also consider that Matt Shaw had some really horrible shooting games and Mullins oftentimes seemed to forget that his team needed him to step up and become more a more offensive oriented player.

Overall, it was a disappointing season.  But Falker is the one player that I have no beef with.  And I for one believe he was snubbed and am truly going to miss watching this guy play.

Falker did get worse over his senior season but he still has the coolest hair around.

Falker was one of the most underated players. the guy was double and triple teamed the entire season! The loss of tatum and young left SIU's big men responsible for making up the lack of points put up by last years guards. to say falker got worse or doesn't deserve recognition is completely ignorant. If you knew anything about basketball, there is no way you could make those types of statements. If anything, Shaw was the one that got worse. He had a few good games but his season as a whole was a major disapointment. leave falker out of this.
