I like Ford. I remember a couple years ago when he turned around E. Kentucky and also did a fine job at UMass.
Also, he played in GI while at Missouri in the Big 8 days.
It's now time to get to work on recruiting and get some future talent to grow and supplement the returning Cowboys in Anderson, Obi, Byron, Thomas, Harris and the rest of the cowboys.

Congrats on signing a great coach. It's tough for me and other UMass fans to see Travis Ford leave, but I truly think that Oklahoma State is a great school to coach at in a very competitive conference. Cherish him for his tenure because I bet he won't be there more than three or four years as he will make a move to the SEC when given the chance.

travis ford is a great coach he did very well at EKU, he did well at UMASS, and he'll get youguys into ncaa contention sooner than you all know it lol. people can say all they want bout ky but they still hire former UK players for coaches lol.

I feel like this hire was just a spit in the face to the suttons, eddie didn't want this kid on is team when he was at kentucky, because he wasn't has good of a player has sean. do you actually think he will be a better coach? when eddie was replaced at kentucky ford made the trip back to kentucky to take sean place, once again he is taking over for sean. the guy is like is back-up. well i'm not worried through we will be looking for a new coach again in 2 years. and hopefully there will be a new A.D running the show. but then again, i may have to eat my words but i doubt it.

This may be a bad comparison, but Mangino (football coach at KU) was never a great player. He seems to be doing just fine as a head coach. So your "sean was a better player, so therefore he must be a better coach" thinking is ridiculous.

Are you crazy? Travis was a much better than Sean was, the only reason Eddie did not take him was he would have played in front of Sean. OSU should be happy, this is a great hire and Sean does not even come close to Travis as a player or a coach.

In 1993 Travis Ford lead Kentucky to the final four. What did Sean do. OL yeah nothing. OSU fans, you should be glad with Ford as your coach and I bet you he will have OSU winning again or at least do better the Sean.

ford lead them, for a kats fan you don't know your history, first off eddie was gone because of drinking problems and second i think you are forgetting about a man by the name of tony delk, not only was ford averaging 11.33 points game he had the second too worst field goal percentage on the team at 39.5% (only chris harrison had worse 27.5%, he only played a total of 120 min that year) 2to1 assit/turnover which is crap for a guard. and if you don't know we when to the final four the next year with eddie, but i know your blue collar pride is broken, because you play in one of the worst confernces in america. but to be stupid about your schools histroy does help much at all so wise and think before you write on our board again kat fans. o and by the way this team is going to do great next year no matter who was running the show. but i doubt he will collect 39 wins in two years this is the big 12, not the sec, not the A-10. good day

damn it, i hate eating my words, that was the 94 stats not the 93 which he was a ok player, and did play nice in the tourney but my opinion still stands, i don't like the hire

cowcane, I am curious to know what system you are talking about Sutton running??? I watched last season and could not figure out what they were ever trying to do on offense. There was no movement, not very many screens ect... The offense last year was basically wait till the end of the shot clock, give the ball to Eaton and set a pick and roll. That is not much of an offense. If OSU didn't score on the fast break last year that had a very difficult time scoring in the half court offense. Saying that I think Sean kind of got a raw deal but I am very happy with havng Travis Ford as the new coach.

Ford is a good pick until we get Self. Ford will be here for 3 or 4 years. Self will be ready to come to OSU then.
