JS Giguire is clearly not as focused as he has been in previous playoff games.  The Ducks have the deepest Defense in all of hockey and they are committing turnovers and giving up goals like its the plague.  Obviously the offensive side is clearly lacking!  Outside of games three's output the Ducks have 3 goals to show for the other three games.  It's not over until the fat lady...what's that music I hear in the background?  So much for defending champs!  Ottawa put up even less of a fight in the East!

On the flip side, Dallas has looked pretty sharp. Turco has made the big saves when he has had to, and the rookie defense has stepped up to block a lot of shots. The offense has been scoring as well, uncharacteristic of Dallas in the regular season.

You are right, it aint over till its over. But the fat lady is about done with that hot dog.. she could be up tonight! Go Stars!

Unfortunately, you are correct.  Jiggy has always been the one the Ducks could rely on through bone headed penalties and mistakes.  This year he just doesn't seem to have it.  Of course it hasn't helped that the Ducks have been systematically breaking down on defense, and Jiggy has had to face more shots from point blank than any other season.

All in all, the Ducks have looked terrible this series.  Game 1 was perhaps the worst game I have ever seen an NHL team play, and they only improved upon that performance marginally in game 2.  The last two games it looks like the Ducks are finally being inclined to compete, but you can't wait until a series is almost over before you get motivated to play.

The Ducks do not have the same intensity they had last year and Dallas is hungrier than the Ducks.

If you look at the first 2 games, the Ducks were beat to every loose puck and lost most all of the battles along the boards.

No way is Dallas a better team than the Ducks, but in this series they are.

Maybe a longer summer this season will refuel the fire they had in 07 to be the best that they can be.

For the casual fan they need to understand what a war it is to go 16 wins to get the Cup. In my estimation it is the hardest title to achieve in all of sports. Especially in the West where the competiton is so tight.

Here's hoping for a Duck miracle, but I do not see this getting past 6 games. I find it hard to believe that the Ducks could lose 3 at home in one series, but I thouhght the same thing against Edmonton 2 years ago.

Whatever happens, I am hoping this is the last season that Duck fans have to put up with one of the dumbest players in all of hockey, Todd Bertuzzi. Hopefully Burke can redeem himself and find someone to take this slug off our hands.

Just a question but, is that why Dallas won the season series 5 games to 3???  I understand that the Ducks finished with a higher rank but it seems that this year the Stars have been the better team or is there another statistic that speaks more loudly on this situation???  As far as the series go I think hats off needs to go to Grossman, Fistric, and Nisky.  They have made some mistakes but are really playing intense and really pretty good Hockey for how inexperienced they are.  I think  the series finishes in game 6 at Dallas.

Jiggy has been horrid this series.  Giving up 14 goals in 4 games is horrendous.  I can't figure out why he hasn't been benched.  It's not all his fault, though, as the Ducks defense as a whole has been substandard.  They are turning over the puck way too often.   I'm sure they will just mail it in,  again,  on game 5.

Zseller I have to disagree with saying that no way are the Stars better than the Ducks.  The Stars were a really good team this year and Turco has clearly turned the corner from his previous postseason failures.  Also I'm not sure the summer is going to refuel the Ducks fire unless they bring some new younger talent in.  They remind me of the Miami Heat.  They were built to win a championship now but in a couple years they are going to need major work.  Niedermayer is already talking retirement again.  You have to wonder if Selanne is going to retire again as well.  Schneider is only getting older and Pronger seems like he lost a step this year.  That would certainly not help the Ducks woeful offense and would be a major dent in their vaunted defense.
