The real season is here and yesterday proved why the NBA will be healthy for years to come, plenty of star quality to go around, and the stars shine brightest at playoff time.

That said, here are my thoughts for today:

Raptors/Magic Over 196.5 - Raptors are not a dynamic defensive team and the Magic should score plenty at home today to help get this total over.   I capped this at 201, so the Over is the play here for me.  Slight lean to the Raptors with 7 and may put this in a round robin...........

Nuggets +8-  Love the Nuggets here.  Lakers are great and will win the game most likely, but the veteran "warrior" mentality of the Nuggets, coupled with multiple scoring threats keep this game within the number.   One other factor, Iverson has a history of "stealing" game one when playing on a team that is a decisive underdog in the series.

Celtics/Hawks Over 189-  Celtics play defense better than anyone in the East, thus the low total.  Hawks have two guards  capable of 25+ each in Johnson and Bibby and should  be able to find another 40 points from the rest of the club.  With that said, the Celts win by 10-15 as the dominant team and this game clears the 189 mark.  I have this total capped at 192.

Good luck if you run with these
