The industrial agricultural complex uses so much pesticides in the Yuma fields, that at one time, not only was the water unsafe to drink, but it was unsafe to bath in. If you want to see fields of trailer homes, full of white hairs, reaching as far as the eye can see, off to the very horizon, Yuma is definitely the place. If I didn't need to stop for gasoline, I'd breeze right on past that hell hole. Not only that, but it's the biggest speed trap in North America. Yeah, you caught me. I love the place.

To barely scratch the surface, rent the old Jack Nicholson movie, The Border. That movie was basically about the Texas border, 30 years ago, during the good old days. Yuma today makes that look like a night at the opera.

Don't stop for longer than it takes to re-fuel. Keep your crucifix at the ready. Don't drink the water, use bottled water, and DO NOT PICK UP ANY HITCH HIKERS!!!
