J'Covan Brown Signs Basketball Letter of Intent to Texas
J'Covan Brown, the 6-2 nationally ranked combo guard from Port Arthur Memorial who committed to Texas several months ago, but couldn't sign a binding letter of intent, is 18 now and he signed a bending letter to Texas Monday and it arrived in Austin today (Tuesday).
Brown's parents wouldn't sign the letter when he committed, but he has had his 18th birthday in the interim, which means he doesn't need any additional signatures.
He still has to qualify academically, but he has a good chance to do that.
Brown is a top 50 national recruit and he probably will be the only recruit Texas signs in this class unless D. J. Augustin skips his final two years of college and turns pro.
Augustin has to make a decision by Sunday, and it is too close to call on which way he will decide to go..
