this thread will focus on a possible second round matchup, considering things continue the way they are going. Cavs and Celtics.

what are your thoughts?

cavs have the reg. season series with 2-1, and a win in boston

boston has only 1 losing record to a team this season, it is to the cavs

Boston played the best basketball.

because i am a cavs fan i hope they can win in 6 cuz i dont see them winning in 7.

i say...

game 1: cleveland (boston suprised by the cavs)

game 2: Boston (boston gets the "not in my house" attitude)

game 3: Cleveland (warm welcome in cleveland, for cleveland)

game 4: Boston (they come back fierce)

game 5: Cleveland (they get hot at the right time)

game 6: Boston (cavs inability to close a series haunts them as they lose making it 3-3)

game 7: Boston (i wish the cavs win....but i dont think they could in a game 7 situation against the celtics)

I say your right about the series. Boston in 6. I don't see LeBron being able to deal with all 3 of Boston's big threats.

Game 1: Boston 92-86

Game 2: Boston 101-91

Game 3: Cleveland 95-91

Game 4: Cleveland 100-95

Game 5: Boston 106-99

Game 6: Boston 100-96

I'd be interested where you get your stats from.  As you are correct in stating that Boston has only 1 losing record, but it's to the Wizards as they are 1-3 against the Wizards and Boston Celtics went 2-2 against the Cavs.   Also you include incorrect data saying that you beat em in Boston.  Whereas stats show the Cavaliers and Celtics both won both games on their home court.  I'd be interested to see where you get your stats from though...

I am a Wiz fan, and am embarrassed by their play in this series so far, but would suggest you run the math again... see below

Boston Vs Cavs

Nov 27 - @ Cle   Lost 104-109
Dec 2 -    Cle       Won 80-70
Feb 5 -     @ Cle Lost 113-114
Feb 27 -   Cle      Won 92-87

Boston Vs Wizards
Nov 2 - Wash            Won 103-83
Jan 12 - @Wash      Lost 78-85
Jan 14 - Wash          Lost 83-88
Apr  9   - @ Wash     Lost 95-109

For the record... In a Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers seven game series here's my take

Game 1 - Goes to Boston
Game 2 - Game goes to overtime before Boston pulls out an OT win
Game 3 - Cleveland wins game to save face
Game 4 - Boston wins with Kevin Garnett pulling out all the defensive stops
Game 5 - Series is over.  Boston wraps it up. Game is interesting until the 3rd quarter.

Boston has time to rest up for surprise Orlando Magic who take it to the Detroit Pistons.

of course you would say that cuz youre a wizards fan and a cavs hater...no matter what happens in the second round, your team will be out of the playoffs by sunday...another  year of watching the playoffs on couches for the the Wizards...how does that feel?

Well, believe it or not, I've become accustomed to watching the playoffs from the couch.  Doesn't feel so bad.  Would not call myself a Cleveland Cavaliers hater.  I actually really like watching LeBron James play.  I was upset with everyone else watching the Wizards go above and beyond what I felt was hard fouling in Game 2.
It's funny that someone could actually feel that the Cavaliers could lose to the Celtics in 5 games in your opinion?  Do you believe the Cavs can beat the Celtics in a 7 game series?
One more issue with your contention.  Do not feel that the Wizards will be out by Sunday.  Probably a bit later than that.  Realize that 30 points is a lot to lose a game by, but they do start the next couple games at 0-0 again.  You have a good day.

I'd say Boston in 5...in fact, the way they're playing and with the veteran talent/playoff experience they have I wouldn't be surprized if they sweep their way to the Eastern Conference finals.  They look tough so far!!!

I like how Cleveland matches up with Boston.  I really believe Cleveland can beat Boston in a 7 game series.  I think they'll have a more difficult time with Detroit (if both teams make it to the conference finals).  The key for the CAVS is to remain aggressive and play each game with the physical mentality that they have displayed in the first 2 games with Washington.

Even though I've said this, don't count Washington out.  We need to focus on this series before paying any attention to the next round.

Go Cavs!

I like Lebron James. I just think he has a bunch of bums on his team. There is no way the Cavs can beat the Celtics in a series, be it 7 games or 5, or however many you want to play. This is the playoffs. One player is not goi ng to pull his team through. And the Cavs are still a one man team. Granted that 1 player is Lebron, but Boston doesn't care. That team is hungry and they will destroy anything in their path on the way to the Finals. Lebron doesn't have a good enough supporting cast to be able to match up with the Celtics. Right now he is scoring at will against the Wiz. But the Wiz don't play D like the Celtics. I think Cleveland could steal a game from them but that's it. They don't pose a real threat to Boston. The Celtics will coast through the East, not extending any series past 6 games maybe even 5. Then the will be rested and have a huge advantage against whomever they face from the West. Which I believe will be the Lakers. With the competition both teams face, Boston has a clear advantage because the Eastern conference is weak. Detroit is the only team that can give them a run. I don't care if the lost the first game to Philly. They will win the next 3 to end the series.

To the original poster. Actually the Magic were 2-1 against Boston and are the only team without a losing record in the regular season against any team from the East.
