It looks official. Tarheelblue.com says Tyler is coming back for his senior year and Lawson and Ellington will both test the NBA waters by declaring without hiring agents.

I am glad TH is staying, however, I feel that Ty and Wayne will not find green grasses on the other side. Ty dropped a lot this yea with his injury and Wayne will definitely benefit from another year of UNC Basketball.
Go Tar Heels !!!

I stated this would happen after the Kansas game and sure enough it did. The news that they won't hire an agent shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. I hope they both come back, but having Hansbrough back is huge!

Here is the article from ESPN:
North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough -- The Associated Press national player of the year last season -- will return for his senior year.
Sophomores Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington will declare for the NBA draft, the school says, but will not hire agents -- leaving open the possibility of their return.
Hansbrough, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged 22.6 points and 10.2 rebounds. He led the Tar Heels to the winningest season in school history and the Final Four.

<!-- end story body --> With all the guards going in the draft, I think both Wayne and Lawson will be back. Both have areas in their games that they need to work on. Hopefully Tyler can become a 3 point threat for next year as well.<!-- begin sp links -->

first of i am very glad to see tyler is comming back. i dont see how some of yall were so confident about him staying. does anyone remeber 2005??? i know we would have been a good team with out any of them but not a national championship contender. anyway that is by far the best news of the summer ;)
i do want to point out something funny though...
gert just said " with all the guards going in the draft, i think both Wayne and lawson will be back"
well its kinda funny that people were saying they didnt think tyler would go "because of all of the forwards going into the draft"
im just poking a little fun, this is one of the deepest nba drafts that ive paid any attention to. so i would say that both statments would be true.
well i think everyone should celebrate, i had a feeling it would turn out this way but like i said im still a little gun shy since the last time we had the suspense of "who's leaving, who's staying" and everyone knows how that one turned out,lol
GO HEELS!!!

Yep yep...just saw the article...and now my week is complete. I hope both Ty and Wayne come back next year, but having Hansbrough decide to stay all four years is possibly the best news yet.
Thank you Tyler, hopefully your supporting cast, whoever they may be, will help get you that ring.

I think this is a big mistake for Lawson. I think he is a great college PG, but I'm not sure he has the size or the outside game to make it in the NBA. He is an ok shooter but he is going to be trying to shoot over guys that are about 3 or 4 in. taller than him. I think he should wait another year and let his stock rise a little bit. I don't think it will make him a better NBA player but he'll make more money. As far as Ellington he is one of the best shooters in the game, and he isn't going to be able to improve that too much. He's defense could use some work but I think he'll be a solid NBA player. I think both of them will be back if they don't find a way to break into the mid first round of the draft. With that said thank god Hansbrough is comming back. I think even if those two go pro we will have a solid team. GO HEELS!!!

I dont think we can make a title run next year. We need 1 0f the 2 to come back. We have no point guard and a big time Guard. Danny Green can become a Starter but now we lose our 6th man. I dont think Tyler will win the NC now. He deserves one. I hope 1 of the 2 stay. There is no way both come back. This is some sad news. They have a chance to be one of the best teams ever if both come back. One thing for sure we will have the best Rebounding team in the nation and some top Big men.
