GREENSBORO -- Meet Parker Duncan Ginobili Till -- age 2 and oblivious to the San Antonio Spurs' playoff run, which continues tonight against the Phoenix Suns.

Mommy and Daddy, however, are far from oblivious. They love the Spurs. How much?

Let's go back to spring 2005: The Spurs are fighting to win the NBA championship. And Rhonda Till is incubating a little bundle of joy. An unexpected bundle. A surprise, you might say.

They have no idea what to call him.

So as they watch the playoffs, San Antonio natives Rhonda (now 44) and John Till (now 40) mull names.

Parker's nice, they agree, while point guard Tony Parker does his floor general bit.

Duncan's not so bad either, John suggests, as former Wake Forest star Tim Duncan leaps over players to score a basket.

Rhonda approves. Then John goes too far.

"What about Ginobili?" he says, referring to Argentinian guard Emanuel David "Manu" Ginobili. "He's the other superstar on the team. We've got to have him in."

An adamant Rhonda says: "No way."

Several months later, Parker is born. And in what John calls a "weak moment." Rhonda consented to Ginobili.

So far, the decision has worked out. The NBA showered the baby with gifts. T-shirts, a stuffed bear, an itty-bitty version of the championship trophy.

And the three players are good role models who "exemplify teamwork," John Till said.

Lucky for Parker his parents weren't fans of the 2006-07 L.A. Lakers:
