Man if Wayne and Danny both leave we are going to lacking in the shooting guard position, besides Frasor thats all of our outside shooting.
Also on a crazy side rumor note, my friend at Carolina told me Wayne only entered the draft because he got his girlfriend pregnant. Doubt its true, but strange.
declaring for the draft without hiring an agent is now the 'en vogue' or cool thing to do.
i cant remember a year when so many players declared without hiring an agent. also, alot of these juniors have nothing to lose since you are allowed to declare once and then withdraw your name. since they will be srs. next year, it really doesnt matter.
the rules are so different now that it really allows these guys to take a look at where they might be drafted, maybe get invited to orlando for the pre draft camp. also, with the rule that allows the nba teams to 'pay' to have players flown in for private workouts without losing their amateur status, the college players have a lot more freedom to check things out.(prior to this year or last, nba teams couldnt privately finance a guys trip for a private workout, usually the agent paid for it, or the team could pay for it, but the player would lose his college eligibility).
with that said, i think lawson and green will be back, but have a feeling like ellington is gonna make a joe forte type mistake.
I am pretty suprised that Danny declared for the draft. I read on the news and observer website that Roy said he hadn't even talked to any of the NBA teams about Danny. Most of the research he was doing was for Tyler, Ty, and Wayne. I am pretty sure he will be back next year but now it's a possibility that we lose two outside shooters. I think we can afford to lose either Wayne or Danny but not both. We have a good outside shooter comming in with Ed Davis. Hopefully all of the guys come back, but I think we are going to lose Lawson.
im goign to tell you as a unc fan i think its best for green to go honestly now, it was a slap in the face to roy and the staff and that kinda tention is not needed next year
I think, of the 3 that have entered the draft, Danny is actually the one who is most ready for the pros. He's got both the inside and outside game, is very strong, hustles, and can play defense better than Wayne or Ty (not that that actually matters in the NBA). He's just the better all-around guy, and could be a very good role-player in the next level.
With that being said, I hope he doesn't go. He has been such a clutch player throughout the past 3 years for the Heels, I want him to come back just one more time. It's already been said that just because Wayne, Ty, and Danny have entered the draft doesn't mean they won't be back. I really hope they will. Take the same team from last season, add a healthy Bobby Frasor, and 3 of the top 25 recruits, and what you'll get is what Greg Doyel described as "possibly the greatest team in history". That should be enough to persuade the boys to come back.
Gentleman, some great post. Danny has been my favorite this past season with his rebounding and 3 point shooting. Sure hope they all come back because we're short on guards next year.

ok im going to respond to that in saying, at the time when i heard the announcement i was more stunned than anything, and i just felt at the time that it was a shot since roy didn't even include him in the process and went behind his back, and it could possibly affect team chemistry and annimosity next year if he returns, but now im personally retracting this statement, i want him to do what he thinks best, it was just like a roy post about the sticker in the national title game i made, i made these comments in the heat of passion and i guess it was the fact that, just like everyother carolina fan that game still stings in the final four but there will be no more hating on the boys they can do what they want and im happy for them, and as far as roy and the sticker, i wouldve done the same thing
