SInce the departure of Coach Dawkins to Stanford.. Will Coach K hire a "big man" coach?? I belive it makes since.. Think about it we have lost many "big man" recruits the last couple of years.. Brandon Wright and Greg Monroe to name 2 not including transfer students or other recruting targets.... I guess to me it doesn't make since to have such a high profile basketball team and have a guard "WOJO" as the big man coach!!! It would make it easier to recruit players if a "big man" coach was involved in the recruting process and more importantly to give the "recruit" a "deciding factor" in choosing Duke... EXAMPLE:  If I was a 7'2" center and I was recruited by coach k and Wojo.. And I asked who will be in charge of my development?? And the answer would be WOJO.. I would choose a diffrent program... Yeah sure the "exposure" is out there through tv, media, newspapers if you play for DUKE but if your not going to learn how to excel in your position why would you choose DUKE!! I believe that is why we are so great in the backcourt.. We have an entire coaching staff made up of GUARDS!! I'm praying that coach K hires an Ex-nba star or Ex-Duke star to become one of his new assistant coaches either a PF or C ... I believe this would open the door we have been needing to close the deal on some of the TOP Big man recruits!!

QUESTION:

WILL COACH K HIRE A BIG MAN COACH BEFORE THE 2008-2009 Season???

I wonder about hiring Christian Laettner.  He was a very good big man at Duke and lots of guys would love to learn from him.  Does anyone know what he's doing these days?

Laettner's very involved in many business ventures, including real estate redevelopment in the Durham area.  I have no idea what his schedule is like though, so I guess you can't completely rule him out.
