Dude, MailDemon, the Redskins had a great draft. They picked up WRs that fit into their new system. There was no good value at the positions you listed during the first few rounds. The offense has to be more diverse than the standard 2 WR formations. If you look at most of the recent Super Bowl Champions and you'll notice that they usually have at least 3 good WRs and 2 good TEs. Look at the Giants (Plax, Toomer, Smith), Colts (Harrison, Wayne, Clark, Utecht), The Greatest Show on Turf (Bruce, Holt, Proehl, Hakim) and Steelers (Ward, Randle El, Miller, Wilson). You need lots of weapons, especially in the West Coast Offense. The 1989 49ers had 5 players that had at least 40 catches in their West Coast system and they are one of the greatest teams in the history of the NFL. The fact is that the Redskins, unlike most years, actually had a draft which has to mean something. You just assume that just because Cerrato and Snyder are running the show means that they can't do a good job. The Redskins had one of the 5 best drafts this year.
Kudos. You made me feel much better about it. I have to agree with you.
