The Skins easily had their best draft in years and still continue to see all the knocks on it? Fred Davis is an excellent pick, especially with the offense Zorn will be running. He will allow the Skins to line Cooley up all over the place to maximize his abilities and create a ton of mis-matches!

They also picked up two out the top three WR's in the draft and they will bring much needed size to the group!

The O-Lineman they drafted could end up being a stud, he sounds like he is very physical and versatile!

The corner they drafted in the fourth sounds like he can also be a very productive corner. All he needs to improve on his technique and he will contribute right away!

Yes, we need a DE, but you cannot possibly fill every need in one draft and for once the front office deserves accolades for producing the best draft we have had in years!!

I agree, we don't have 17 picks.  People need to be happy with what they got.  I hear people on the radio left and right complaining about the draft.  What, you want them to go back into free-agency.  We wanted to have a draft and that is what we are doing.  Now we are skeptical of who they pick.  People have been complaining about the offense for years and when we draft two recievers and an extra tight-end, people have a problem with it.

People have a right to there own opinion of the draft. If  agreeing on what ever they do and they can do no wrong well that is not being much of a fan. Everyone has a right to there point of view, but we will not see how good or bad this draft was until they are on the 52 man roster and see them on the field.

The Redskins have had success in the draft before. Look at later-round picks like Rock Cartwright, Chris Cooley, and Anthony Montgomery. I'm not really concerned about the one we had this year; it could turn out to be a solid draft.

In my opinion we had a good draft. Did we fill every need no we did not. I also do think that filling every need is a reasonable expectation. We took some players that surprised me. As I see it we improved the offense a great deal. We got two WR that can come in and both contribute this year. Devin Thomas looks like a very good WR and Malcom Kelly may very well be a very good WR also. Between the two we should have solved our WR problems for a while. Fred Davis was a surprise pick to me however it is not a bad pick. He is a top TE and will come in and play immediately. Now come Chad Rinehart OL, this guy is going to be good. I posted about him some time ago and said that I liked hm for depth. He is going to be a solid OL maybe a tackle. Does any one know if Brandon Keith also from Northern Iowa was drafted? He is Rinehart's team mate and is also very good. Now we have drafted 4 players on offense that will all contribute time this year. Not bad at all.

We draft a punter Durrant Brooks, again a bit of a surprise to me however we have had problems with punters and kickers for a while. If this kid is really as good as they say our punting problems are solved for many years. Not a bad move at all. Now we are up to 5 players that will play and contribute minutes next year.

Now comes Kareem Moore CB I do not know much about him. Can he help in the secondary or on special teams time will tell. The same is true for Rob Jackson DE do not know much about him. He may add some depth and he may contribute on special teams.

I like Chris Horton FS this is a hitter. He will flat out take your head off. He will play at least on special teams next year in my opinion.

Colt Brennan who knows what we have here. If the kid has truly put on 30 lbs. and is out of shape he will not be around long. If he is serious and is a worker he may stick and be our third QB for a couple years untill Todd Collins retires. Guess time will tell what we have here. It will be a couple years or longer before any of us know for sure.

Overall I am not upset with the Redskins draft. I would say that we did a lot to help the offense. In my opinion we drafted at least 5 players that will play and contribute next year and maybe 6 or 7! Not bad at all.

Hail to the Redskins

THIS IS HOW IT IS AND ALWAYS IS...

The draft is always a crap shoot.  Sure, the brass could have drafted differently and have gone more for need at the top.  However, they DID go for best available on their board, and that at least is respectful.  Afterall, you don't pay a ton of scouts top dollar to evalutate players and to just go against that.  Now, it does seem a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy with them going WR so strong.  After all, a lot of top rated WR's slid on other draft boards, maybe because they didn't see as much of a need.  As it stands, they got top rated players in almost everyones eyes.  If these guys turn out to be solid playmakers as expected, then we have a young group on offense for years to come and build around...something we have been laking IN A VERY LONG TIME.  If they had gone safety, corner, what have you and those guys didn't work out, everyone would have said "They could have gotten Thomas, Kelly, or whomever."  Everything is 20/20 in hind sight.  There is no denying that they got some dynamic players.  Only the future will tell.  We should be estatic that they TRADED DOWN, and did use ALL TEN DRAFT PICKS!!!  This is a promising start to a new coach, and hopefully a new philosophy in management.
