If they have 1000 picks on day one to dink around with....also the suckers known as the Falcons choose a franchise passer with 19 ints his senior year cause he has the "IT" factor hyped up by boston college buddy Mike Mayock. Instead of choosing the next Warren Sapp. So you get him to fall to you and then select the best interior lineman and expect him to play left tackle...MISTAKE! Obviously picking 10 of the top 100 college players its hard to not get kudos!

Wasn't this draft class suppose to be very shallow in talented players....one of the worst in years.  With that being said, how could the Chiefs have been able to get all of the few talented players throughout the draft?

Yes they did fill a bunch of holes on their team so congrats on the upgrade, but how much of an upgrade could it really be if these 2nd round + guys were all written up as "ehhhh" players before the draft took place?  I mean before the draft it was all McFadden is tier 1, Mendenhall, F. Jones, Stewart, maybe 1-2 more teir 2 talent, I didn't hear a word about the kid from Texas until after KC drafted---I live in KC so I'm sure they're hyping him up more than the national media (aka this article)

The draft was thought to be pretty deep but not loaded with A list prospects.

I agree though, the Chiefs had a nice draft, how?, they had a dozen picks in the first day that where all at the top of each round.

To the bozo who started this: wake up!

No, not everybody can have that kind of draft. A little luck and a lot of scouting reports! Believe it or not they actually get paid! Its a job. Sorry you a pore sport because your team had a bad draft and the Chiefs stole every decent player off the board! At least 4 will start! Not a MISTAKE! Grow a brain, genius.

A couple of things people forget when looking at this.  KC had such a good draft because they filled needs.  When you have the #5 pick in the draft you are more than likely going to have a lot of needs.

At least 4 will start!

Because you dont have the players in place right now that are more talented.  It was a good draft but you give any club 6 picks in the top 100 and they will have a good draft.  The media just needs someone to label a WINNER so more people become interested in the draft (since that is what sports is about, winners and losers)

I agree, no one is..or should be...putting down the KC draft, they did a very good job but all this KC gladhanding by the media is getting a little bit silly.

The NFL draft is designed to help teams that have performed poorly get a quick injection of talent by letting them pick high in the draft.  So, if you are picking in the top five you better walk away with a good player or you are in real trouble.  Add to that the Allen trade and their having six picks in the top 100, well, you better hit a home run.

First of all, dimedropper....Of course 4 of them will start, your team blows and has little talent other then Larry Johnson....So basically every player you draft has a chance to start. Oh yeah, they also draft a RB the only non hole on your entire team. That is a pretty smart move.

A Detroit fan remarking that "anyone" can have a good draft?

Hilarious.

Your team has been picking high for quite a few years, it doesn't seem to have helped.  And to chastise the Chiefs for picking a position of apparent non-need?  How many receivers has Detroit drafted high in the last decade?

If I wasn't sneering in disgust at you, I would be laughing.

The Falcons are idiots they passd on the next Sapp just like the Hawks passed on the next Chris Paul.

How can people say that if you have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds that you're going to have a good-great draft. The Chiefs could have stretched for certain plays throughout the draft and yet made the decision to stcik to their plan. They knew going into day one they wanted a DL, OL, and a CB so Dorsey fell to them bc other teams "made" a mistake and passed on him not their fault... then at 17 they figured their guy could be gone so they move up to get him... They get Flowers in the 2nd rd which many had rated higher

3rd Round is where they made their money... or at least right now before these players get on the field it seems as if they did extremely well... They could have strecthed for players in this rd instead they stayed at home and got guys they had rated higher then the 3rd round. For them to get so much value according to their draft board is the reason why people are saying they had a great draft. They could have easily made poor decisions and ended up in the same place as the Lions (with washed up draft picks... Harrington, Rogers, Williams, Jones, etc...) Instead they gave themselves players that will fill holes right away and if the past few draft classes can show they were worth the picks then this team will be in a place to contend soon... just probably not this year.
