Hey guys, you may want to check your facts. It is true that the Big 10 and Pac 10 are against any changes in the BCS. However, so are the Big 12, the Big East and Notre Dame. The only ones for it are the SEC and the ACC.
I'm not sure it is about money. I think it is obvious they would make at least as much, if not more, with a playoff. I think it is more about power and control. "Hey, we can do this any way we want, people will have to deal with it AND give us their money." If you doubt that, read the statement that Mike Tranghese (Big East) made this past week. I can't quote it here, but the basic jist of it was something like this. "The fans are not responsible for the success of the system we have." It is contained in one of the articles at this site about the meeting they had last week.
The suggestion has been made in a couple of posts that I am aware of, if we were to avoid the first four weeks of the season and hit the big boys in their wallet now, they would be forced to listen to what most of us seem to want, a playoff system of some sort. I am in. Care to join and put your money where your mouth is?? Or are you just going to whine about it, but not do something you can do to change it???
