To me, it's no coincidence that the seven game winning streak started on a night that both Andruw and Nomar got hurt, and left the game.  Since then, Andruw and his < .200 average has returned to the everyday lineup, but Nomar hasn't.  This has allowed Joe Torre to shuffle things around and play 1 more younger player in every game - leading, almost directly in my opinion, to the recent success.
I wanted to post this as soon as both stars left the game that night, but thought it better to wait to see how things worked out.  Sitting down Andruw now would allow Kemp, Pierre, and Ethier to all play at the same time (something we've rarely seen this year).  All three of them are playing at a much higher level than a slumping Jones (and perhaps at a higher level than he'll ever get back to).  Jones (because of that terrific contract) would still play, obviously, but his use might be more as a pinch hitter/late game defensive sub (for Pierre, most likely).
Not sure that I'm entirely on point with my argument, but the arguments I've heard for keeping Jones in the lineup (break the slump eventually, legit home run threat, great defensively) aren't really winning me over anymore.

I would sit him down in between games.  Management will continue to use that excuse about keeping him in the lineup cause they will not admit that it was a bad pick up.

I'm in favor of playing him.  He has to break out of this slump eventually.  He has shown throughout his career that he is a good hitter, but does go through his share of slumps.  But once he gets hot he is a guy that can carry this team offensively.  The same can't be said for Pierre.  This team is hitting for a great average and we get runners on base consistantly.  The only thing this lineup is missing is power, and once Jones comes around it will be much more potent.  But if he still is hitting under the Mendoza line at the end of May it is time to sit him.

I think at this point, waiting for Andruw Jones to come around is like waiting for the grass to grow - By the time it does, nobody will care.

Andruw Jones is actually phasing HIMSELF out of the ballclub's plans whether we realize it or not, and that's a terrible way to start a career at your new home. Torre takes care of his veteran's well, but other than a few scant doubles/walks here and there, I doubt it gets better before it gets worse.

Hate to say it, but day by day Andruw Jones is just becoming a defensive replacement, which is not bad, but it is when you're paying him that kind of money.
