wow nbadraft.net, has wayne going 25th and ty lawson not even going in the secound, round compared to draftexpress.com, who has wayne 40th and ty 29th, ummmmm i don't know what to think of this, i just don't see ellington as a first rounded, but hey if this would be true i think i could handle ty and green coming back for ellington leave, we'd be better off b/c lets face it ty would be a top 5 pick probably next year

ummmmm i don't know what to thinkNeither do the guys who created those charts. Its all undecided as far as I'm concerned, after the pre-draft camps then they will better solidify where certain players will fit as you also have to take into account internationals and what teams need what type of players. I'm anxious and hope they all come back. GO HEELS!

If Ty and Danny come back then Danny gets to start. But we all know "what if" never put a ball in the basket.

Here is a look at Wayne Ellington from Mock Draft Net. There seems to be 2 Wayne Ellington's because I've never seen the one discribed here.
"NBA Comparison: Cuttino Mobley - Wayne Ellington
Strengths: A scoring machine. Pure shooter with an advanced offensive package … Tremendous three point shooter who can spot up or pull up off the dribble equally effective … Has a picture perfect release and excellent range on his shot … Extremely quick and fluid, his ball handling ability is smooth as he spent time in high school playing both guard positions … Has a tremendous first step but should look to get to the rim more often … Benefits playing at UNC where his skills are showcased as well as anywhere … A decent passer, but tends to look to create offense for himself first and foremost …
Weaknesses: Undersized at the 2-guard position … Has solid length and athleticism but nothing extraordinary making his lack of height a true liability … Tends to focus more on the offensive end of the floor … Lacks great defensive skills. Must develop a greater desire and focus on the defensive end of the floor … His lateral foot speed and quickness are solid enough where he could develop into a quality on-ball defender … Lack of body strength is also a point of focus … Lack of explosiveness limits his finishing ability at the rim … Needs to develop more of a killer instinct, his intensity appears to drift at times …
Notes: Came into North Carolina as a consensus top 10 recruit nationally … High school teammate and friend of Duke’s Gerald Henderson …
Aran Smith - 9/23/2007"

Uncle, i thought the same thing when reading that. I had to do a quick search on Wayne Ellington to make sure there wasn't another one i was missing. This is what happens when NBA "experts" write up a player synopsis for someone they've only seen play a handful of times.
I'd find it hard to believe if you told me Wayne would go before Tywon, although i guess some people may be unsure about Ty's recent injury. Setting aside the fact that Ty is clearly more skilled at his position. Theres a serious lack of quality "Point Guards" in the NBA right now and it doesn't hurt that the pendulum in a once "Shooting Guard" focused league has now swung towards "Point Guard" with recent emergence of people like Steve Nash, Chris Paul, etc...

BabyBlueBlood - I guess people see what they want to see. I did laugh when they talked about his ball handleing skills. There has to be something else we have never seen in Wayne that makes him that special to the NBA. I just wonder what it is.. lol

This web site also has a link that ranks the sophomores (class of 2010).
Ellington is 9th, Gerald Henderson 18th, Lawson 21st and Deon Thompson 25th.
Maybe it's put together by a Carolina fan who wants Lawson to return and Green to start.

No_Name writes.. " Maybe it's put together by a Carolina fan who wants Lawson to return and Green to start."
That would be me. If Ty returns with Danny then we're 2 deep with Drew and Frasor to back them up. Remember, Bobby Frasor was recurited as a SG. We'll have more than enough big men coming in to make a Blue Team but I don't think Roy is into that as Dean was.

This form an article in the Winston Salem Journal Thursday, May 8
"The early line: Ellington and Lawson most likely will go, and Green probably will return. In that movie, Green would inherit lots of jump shots next season playing beside point guard Bobby Frasor.
Carolina has recruited another Tyler, 6-11 Tyler Zeller, a thin running machine from Indiana who made an A in all his classes and actually passed the ball in the McDonald's All-Star Game, thus setting some sort of record.
The other two freshmen, strong forward Ed Davis of Richmond and point guard Larry Drew of California, have role-player profiles.
One odd twist: If all three undergrads leave, Hansbrough could face the basket a lot more and even take a few turns at small forward."
