USF did not beat WVU last year, WVU beat themselves

mmm...might disagree here a bit BB...Mike Dent had his lunch handed to him in that game...The O-Line  got manhandled....and still almost won the game..

Anyhow..USF will make me a beleiver if they can rise up and do it again....

bc_bc, aren't you forgetting something?  A lose to the worst team in your conference. Who lost to the worst team in the conference?

Oh man, you don't want to do that!

Mike Dent had his lunch handed to him in that game...

Agree, he had a terrible game.  He was snapping the ball over the QB's head, or snapping it high the entire game.  He must have been concerned about Moffitt.

The O-Line  got manhandled....and still almost won the game..

Well, the offense still generated 437 yds of total offense.  It held a 34:38 to 25:22 clock advantage.

As I said, the WVU team shot themselves in the foot.  It was not like the USF game from 2006 or the Pitt game from 2007 when the opponent's defense dominated the WVU offense.  WVU had 6 TO's and some of them came with WVU driving deep into USF territory.

For example:

  1. In the 2nd QTR, Slaton fumbles at the USF 29.
  2. In the 2nd QTR, White's pass to Hogan is fumbled at the USF 30.
  3. At the end of the 2nd QTR, Dent's snap goes over Brown's head when WVU was at the USF 2.  McAffe comes in to kick a FG.
  4. In the 3rd QTR,  Brown throws an INT at the USF 9.
  5. In the 4th QTR, Brown throws an INT at the USF 36.

In the end, USF got the 'W', and that is all that counts.  But WVU lost that game, they were not beaten by the better team.  At least that's how this homer sees it....

I agree with what you said...but the pressure that USF had up front accounted for half of those turnovers...and as you stated  we still generated offense ...and we almost pulled it out....

And the  two DT's that were whipping his arse for 4 qtrs..

Well, the USF vs WVU game was an ugly exhibition of football.  Both teams made a bunch of mistakes, USF had their TO's, but WVU had 6 TO's.....

6 TO's, that is unbelievable.  I think there was a stat shown during the Pitt replay I watched that had WVU making 6 TO's against USF and then 6 TO's the rest of the regular season (up until the Pitt game).  WVU made a few TO's against Pitt too!

You kidding me!  USF has got their butt kicked by some so so teams in the past several years.  If you know football, teams at this level sometimes get lucky and catch a team on a bad day.  Every time Wv had 6 turn overs they lost and so would most other teams.  Slaton had a physical problem with his hands or arm?  White got hurt and Brown had little playing time under his belt.  Come on guys  WV is a better team just not on that day.  Look at the three Bowl wins. and their overall record.  If they played a 5 game series WV would win 4.  If you think RR called a good game than you are with out a clue.  All the defense you needed against WV was to s
