RHV  You're right that will be a blow. I was wondering about him, I didn't remember his name with his limited play time in the opening 3 games. He looked very promising with some explosive hits and was a very needed piece of our rebuilding D.

He seemed like he was going to be a good player, but he really needed to focus on his school work and personal issues.  I don't lnow enough to say more, but I do hope he works it all out.  Maybe he is better off in Indiana where he can work out his family issues and focus on his future.  I'm extremely proud of the fact that most Florida atheletes also get their degrees.

The NCAA is beginning to sanction college sports teams who underachieve in the classroom by cutting scholarships and, possibly, banning teams from post-season play.  This, coupled with Finch's family dilemma, might be good reasons for releasing the young man.  Good Luck to him, as Indiana is beginning to build a good program.

Go Gators!!

Indiana is actually a great university though. I'm not sure it will be any easier than UF. Especially with your two kids!

I was always a fan of Finch and I thought he looked great in his short time last year...

but, i dont think this will be as big of a blow as we are making it out ot be.  We have alot of depth at linebacker that has emerged this spring and he wasnt really even going to get a shot at safety.  The coaches were wanting him to play LB but he was wanting his shot at safety.  He had his oppurtunity to shine this spring but didnt do anything special.  In terms of the 08 season, we lost a part time linebacker/special teams player... replaceable with our depth.

He should of gone to IU in the first place.  He committed to us and then on last yrs signing day signed with you guys.  He could of started for us now we'll get him as a jr and he will of missed 2 yrs of experience.  I hope it works out, good luck to ya'll next yr (except against Miami), but you'll still beat us.

Yep! Just when you think things are starting to change. he may have been a real team leader in the future and key to rebuilding your D. Who is gonna be his back up?

not surprising. my high school football team played his in the semi-state game. he was pretty good, but i was kind of shocked that he went to florida. it kind of sucks for our D, but i think that we'll be fine. just hope that this kid can play well for the hoosiers.
