The Dallas Cowboys didn’t add a quarterback to the roster during the NFL draft, but owner Jerry Jones hinted the organization will look at some of the veteran options on the market, according to Pro Football Weekly.

The Cowboys are looking for a veteran to plug in behind Tony Romo and Brad Johnson. Some of the players under consideration include Tim Rattay, Tim Hasselbeck and Kelly Holcomb.

Hasselbeck should be a nice option. I thought the season he had with Washington was promissing. He is the youngest of the bunch. Holcomb wouldn't be too much of an upgrade over Brad and I always thought Rattay's arm was very weak.

If you look at the team page there is an article about a QB named Richard Bartel. He was on the practice squad last year. I guess he has been getting a lot of work in with Wade Wilson and looks to be promising. They say that's why Dallas didn't draft a QB in the later rounds like I thought they would have. Even with him though, they are going to bring a vet to training camp. Though he's older, I would like to see it be Hasselbeck also.

lets face facts - our depth at QB is as shallow as a very shallow puddle.  in all honesty if Romo goes down, so do our Superbowl chances.

I dont think that Brad can lead the offence.  he might be able to keep it ticking for a quater or two, but not for a number of games.

Bartel is untried, but at least hes been in the system for a year - hes a reasonable no 3

I think we need someone who is going to push Johnson at No 2.  but we also need someone who at least plays our system - not some west coast type QB

Here is a name to kick around. D. Carr, as a 3rd quarterback . He is young and in a year or two he could move up to 2nd. No more no less, just a number 2 QB at best.

Carr's biggest problem is he was thought in to the fire with no help. So make him a 3rd Qb and teach him how to be a nice number 2.

I was really big on Carr last year. I thought it was a genious move for Carolina to sign him. I really was convinced that it was the Texans that was his problem. WOW did I feel dumb.

Not only did they Texans play well behind Schaub, his back up did pretty well too.

Than in comes Carr in Carolina......... Only thing I can say is that the rookie Moore looked much better than him. Which stings even more since I though Dallas should have done more to keep him.

Carr still has the arm and maybe even some speed left in him. I'm just not sure how much confidence is left in him. I wouldn't be hurt if they brought him in but I'm still leaning towards Hasselbeck.

I think that Tim Hasselback would be the best fit for the Cowboys.  He could challenge Brad Johnson for the #2 spot and could help Romo out during practices.
