IS 6'9" JOsh Harrelson going to be another 5 min a game Coury, or a bench warmer like Carter, or is he goin to step in and be an impact player?

I guess we wont have much of an idea until we get a look at him playing against division I talent,,,

I hope not. I hope he is at least a 8 and  8 guy. That's all we need to make Patterson better. If CBG could turn Stevenson into an impact player. He could probably turn this guy into a solid player. I just wish the Carter could turn into something. He has a great frame. He is just not aggresive.

But I would still start Perry Stevenson over Harrelson next season just because of his improvement and work ethic.

I agree 8 and 8 would be great, but I look for Stevenson to be much improved by next year, and to pick up where he left off last year.  I think he will be able to knock down the fifteen footer consistently, but also have improved post moves, and he will be stronger.  I think Perry Stevensons next two years will be bright ones.

I would have to think that his abilities will be closer to Mark Coury than P. Stevenson.  He was offered by 1 school out of high school"Western Illinois" and you had to beat out the mighty St. Louis to get him this year.  P Stevenson was a 4 star recruit that had offers from several major college programs  http://kentucky.scout.com/a.z?s=48&p=8&c=1&nid=1599907and is in Billy Ball shape already.  This kid better be ready to cut about 20 lbs. if he wants to play at this level.  He did average 14 and 8 for SWIC as a freshman but I think Carter or Coury could have those numbers against that kind of competition.  Only time will  tell.  He could be a gem, or another warm body on the bench.

With Carter being the only senior on the team and PatPat "saying" he is playing all 4 years.  You will only have 1 schooly available next year.  I would have saved this scholy for a guy like Renardo Sydney http://kentucky.scout.com/a.z?s=48&p=8&c=1&nid=2007369 instead of giving it to an out of shape kid who nobody wanted a year ago.

DieHardCard,

U blow my mind! For being a die hard card, U sure do pay a lot of attention to the Cats. Coach G wouldn't have went and got Harrelson if he thought he was going to ride the pine. Harrelson is coming in to guard against the other teams 5 and take some defensive pressure off of PPat. You should worry about when the Ville is gonna win a N'tl Championship.

That's why you're not coaching college basketball.  I must agree with ukforever1 - it's shocking that Diehardcard would be critical of something UK does.  I never thought I would see the day when Diehard would have something negative to say.  What's the world coming to?

Obviously we will have to wait and see.  However, he was not highly recruited out of high school but he was pretty highly recruited out of JUCO.  I put down the schools which heavily recruited the guy.  I can't remember them all but they were IU, Purdue, Wisconsin, etc.  He was down to the Billikins and UK just becaus of their proximity to home.  All scouting reports say the kid has great hands, uses his body well, and has a nice shooting touch with 15 foot range.

If these are all true, I don't think he will ride the pine, I think he will get minutes and alot of them.  As for Stevenson, if he develops the 15 to 17 foot J, the kid will be fantastic.

idk, the word project has been thrown around quite a bit when I've seen discussions on him.  So I wasn't real big on the signing, but i guess we'll just wait and see how it pays off i guess.  Tho i suspect 8/8 is more than he'll prolly give.  I could see 6/4 or 6/5, as i too believe stevenson will still see the majority of the minutes beside patterson.
