Perhaps I'm jumping the gun, but I'm already looking towards the 2009 recruiting class. As it stands, Cincy has a verbal from Danny McElroy, who averaged 17 points per game at LaSalle this past season, if I'm not mistaken. From what I've read, he's not terribly impressive, but is a four-year player, a characteristic that Cronin looks for in recruits - it allows them to develop slowly. With the amount of talent Cronin already has, he cannot possibly give everyone minutes. Does anyone have any more information on McElroy, though? A more complete scouting report?
I'm hoping Cronin does not blow his one remaining scholarship for the 2008 class, and instead saves it for 2009. Hopefully, Cincy will be able to bring in another PG in order to back up Wright.
On an unrelated note, does anyone think we'll see increased action from Darnell Wilks next year? I think Cronin is letting him develop slowly, but I know he was a four-star recruit coming out of high school, so I'm assuming he must have the necessary fundamentals to compete at the Big East level.
