Yeah I read this post today. Even though I am a fan of Moore..there is no way that he unseats Delhomme! Barring injury Delhomme is and should be the starter. Not to mention I think Jake is a better QB also!

I agree MLF, JAke dDelhomme is our Panthers QB. He is proven and has shown us he can get us there. Matt Moore is a good back-up and student of the game. He should take it as such and use this time as a learning experience and another rung in that ladder to becoming a starter.
Peyton Manning did not start throwing for the Colts on day one, neither did Tom Brady for the Partiots nor did Brett Farve with the Falcons or Packers. Moore should learn and better himself everyday.
I too am a fan of Moore and would like to see him as a starter, but in years to come.
Go Panthers.

Matt Moore is the new Jake Delhomme, who was the new Kurt Warner, who was the new Jamie Martin. lol. Yea, I think Moore resembles Jake alot w/ the poise he has in the pocket and the energy he brings to the table. I don't think it's a much as Jake's energy but its still alot. I think he will lead our team in a few years. Untill then though, it's all Jake baby.

payton manning did start throwing for the Colts right away. he started all 16 games in his first season- hes just a beast (and afterall, was the first overall pick)
but i do agree, we should let Matt Moore learn everything he can b4 he is forced to start. but little bits of experience, such as the 3 games last year, will prove very valuable later on in his career. delhommes expiry date isnt here yet and i want him to keep pounding til it comes

I agree with the article on what they call poise in the pocket...in fact I think I mentioned MONTHS ago that his best trait was his pocket presence...in fact I think my words your like "one of the best if not the best for a rookie QB"...I have ever seen.
However, I disagree with the Matt Moore arm strength...I have not seen a lack of arm strength in my viewings...his passes to a great degree were limited to short and mid range but with lenty of velocity.
I'm comfortable with having Matt as the Jake Delhomme back up. Gaining experience behind Jake will be very valuable...Remember he was the 3rd option last year so he never got a whole lot of practice time.
One other thing...how much better will Matt look when he has good and healthly receivers to throw to.
But then again what do I know, I'm only a Panthers fan.

Firstchance...You are correct about that. In fact several times last year I seem to recall you admiring him for standing in the pocket and looking downfield. I also have to disagree with the arm strength comment. I remember the hail mary during the Falcons game last year, where they put him in because they didn't think that Vinny had a strong enough arm to make the throw. That ball sailed like 65 yards; however, it was intercepted, but it was a hail mary! What do you expect? Now that the team has picked up actual recievers, let's groom this young man and see what he really has!

I think moore would of went 3 starts for 3 wins if the refs, didn`t hand pick dallas, i am still in shock that the refs didn`t call pass interefence when carter beat his guy and got tackled him. in fact, a couple times last year i think the refs played a role in the outcome of the game, my dad is a Packers fan and brother is a Bears fan and they agree the refs had it out for the Panthers last year. anyways, back to this post. I think moore is going to be an above ave qb. For a young qb to be thrown in there and did what he did, shows alot.
