There was an old saying where coaches groom young players for the next coach, and I think that's very true. I guess the same can be said for GMs. Atlanta was so bad for so long, Knight took so much scrutiny. And then finally they reach the playoffs and seem to be turning the corner. It looks like Knight won't be there to see it, however.

I have known Billy "Mooney" Knight for a very long time.  We used to play basketball at the Salvation Army in Braddock, Pa. since we were in grade school. I knew his family and all his brothers.

He played basketball for one of the toughest high school coaches in Moe Becker at Braddock High School.  Billy is a true leader and has always been a great basketball player.  He has done an excellent job thru out his career with the Indiana Pacers and all the NBA pro teams he has been with.

I live in Chicago now but I am very proud to know Billy and his family.  Our towns in that area were always rivals - Scott High School, Braddock High School and Rankin High School.   Our high school now is Woodland Hills.  One of the top players from Braddock and played at Woodland Hills and now the Miami Dolphins is Jason Taylor.  Maybe Billy can show him some "Braddock Steps" dancing to you all so Jason can win Dancing With the Stars.

Billy will be with another team I hope in the NBA.  He is a true professional.

Regards

Joe B  from North Braddock now living in Chicago
