This is a real good catch for UK. Soon the roster will be stacked if this keeps up.

I hope some more scholly's open for next year so Coach G can really work some magic! So far for the Class of '09 we've offered scholly's to (according to Scouthoops.com):

#5 SF (4-Star) - Shawn Williams (6-6,185); Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky
#13 PG (4-Star) - Junior Cadougan (6-1,190); Louisville, Memphis, UCONN, Kentucky
#14 PG (3-Star) - A.J. Walton (6-0,175); Arkansas, Baylor, Kentucky, Oklahoma
And we havent offered to:
#1 PF (#2 Overall) - Renardo Sidney (6-9,240); Arizona State, Kentucky, Texas, UCLA

I agree get this man a Range Rover. I can not wait for Mr. DeAndre Liggins to show Bobby Maze what a 5 star recruit looks like. I hear Jon Hood is good, #39 on rivals. But im afraid we should have saved this scholly for John Wall or another 5 star recruit.

Can someone who is relatively sure tell me which recruiting site is the best? I have heard the rivals is usually the most on the ball, which I think tends to be true, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to gauge our chances with Wall and Sidney because I do not think that rivals has us high on either one of their lists. They are both program changing recruits. I think we especially need, Sidney because we our becoming really, really perimeter heavy.

ukcats59, I personally like Scout, and you are dead on about Renardo Sydney. AlwaystrueBLUE is right, if Sydney and Wall want to come, BCG will make room for them. Hood, Wall, and Sydney would be a damn fine class. If PatPat stays for his junior year you would be LOADED!!!

Well its personal opinion, but i've always felt that rivals was the most up to date, and generally the most accurate. scout goes months without even adding who has offered scholarships to players. As for another pickup, it sounds like UK is really starting to put the pressure on deshawn painter a 5 star center. I dont think sidney is going to leave the west coast, and John Wall is already heavily leaning towards memphis, so while its wishful thinking, i dont forsee either of them as UK players in the future.
and in response to someone earlier who said we should have saved the scholly for wall. I disagree, i dont think UK should just take anyone but at the same time, UK is in desperate need of a shooting guard, which is probably the highest priority position for 09. and you can't always hold out for the #1 player, you get a great recruit who will committ and run with it oftentimes. and I've always love when uk signs guys ranked like 20-40 who are projected as impact players in college for 3+ years, over the 1 and done studs. like for example I'll take a joe crawford over eric gordon any day for instance. so i was really pleased to see this signing. and its always a good move to keep the top instate players instate.
I am wondering where the scholarship is coming from, but it really sounds like Mike williams is gonna transfer, which opens up 1. And i think gillispie is preparing for either patterson leaving next year, or jasper transfering, which is why he's still going after some other 09 recruits pretty hard even tho they dont even have a scholarship for hood at this point in time. i suspect it'll work itself out.
