For a few years now, sports columnists have been writing what a great head coach Pastner would  someday become. And they lauded the recruiting job he has done at Arizona. With the talent John Calipari has already been reeling in at Memphis, it is scary to think Memphis may recruit even better with the addition of Pastner. Until last year, I always assumed Arizona and Lute were grooming Pastner to replace Lute when he finally retired. Strange goings-on down in Arizona.

Pastner is the best recruiter for Arizona by far. He's done a great job assembling talent and I would hate to see him leave. I'm not liking the changes to Wildcat basketball right now.

How can Pastner help Memphis State recruit better than World Wide Wes & FredEx's cold hard cash?  That's hilarious!

Memphis doesn't need to buy players as RJP11 so eloquently implied. Once recruits meet Calipari and see the success of his players making the NBA, that is really all they need to see to commit.  Add in the fact that they would be playing in a world-class arena, practicing in state of the art facilities, working FedEx internships, and get connected through Worldwide Wes, its all but over at that point. Adding Pastner's recruiting skills to the mix could be the key to continuing this powerhouse stretch for Memphis.

You know it's funny that you mentioned William Wesley and Fred Smith together in your post RJP11. It made me recall a speech I was forced to see as an incoming freshman in college. Fred Smith was at the podium and stated that the most important thing to remember as you enter the "real world" is that it isn't necessarily what you know, it's WHO you know, your connections, and networking. Well its nice to know that Calipari and Worldwide Wes know a lot of people. Go Tigers!

myth--Pastner Recruits have not been one conference all perfromer yet.  Onubun, Wise, Mclellan, and Ebi---not one all conference player.  Sorry Josh--is an alright guy, bu let's not go overboard.
