When the old Iffster arrived at the Tiger message board shortly before the season began, he was met with varying degrees of disgust. The Iffster was told to shut up, go away, as well as few splendid names. He was told repeatedly that he was NOT a Tiger fan, that he was some stalker from the Indian's message board, and/or that he was some sort of bandwagon(?) fan. The Iffster was, in short, doubted and berated for his views on the Tiger team, its front office, and the team's ability. However, I think some of his views are starting to pan out. PLEASE, understand this.....the Iffster doesn't run on guess work....he's not making this stuff up while he goes along. Many, many years of watching (and playing) baseball goes into the old Iffster thinking. In short.....near genius thinking is the Iffster's forte.
I think a lot of those people who tried to rip the Iffster a new one are long gone.......bandwagon fans who ran away after the Tiger's awful start. However, for those of you remaining......you might start saying to yourself; "Dang, the Iffy knows of what he speaks. This is one VERY flawed ballclub."
Case in point....a Mr. Francisco Cruceta. The Great Con-men (aka Dombrowski/Illitch) figured they could slip this guy by you as a phenom from S. America. What Mr. D even stated on ESPN during a Sunday night game, that Cruceta was on his way to instill fear in the hearts of AL batters. Well, as you saw, Cruceta does instill fear in AL hitters....a fear that they won't get a chance to bat against him and raise their average. This would have been easy to predict - IF you looked at the kids past record.
Now I am sure that many of you are all excited about the Tigers ninth inning win over the Red Sox (fortunately, the Sox decided to impersonate the Tiger's defense in the ninth) and are ready to pronounce that Detroit has now "turned things around". (man, I think I've read that a thousand times on this board.)
But.....never fear.....the Iffster will be here to make an attempt to keep your feet firmly planted in reality. Todd Jones wins - Todd Jones wins!!!!!!
