OK so if I have this correct. There is no actual game tape of the Rams walk through prior to Superbowl XXXVI. So the players of the Rams 2001 Superbowl team that were upset by this entered a law suit against the New England Patriots "without" any actual evidence that this tape actually exists.

Now obviously this occurred and Belicheck has admitted it but I still don't get how these Rams players were able to even get someone to defend them without any evidence.

Belicheck has stated he has never watched a tape of any walkthrough of any team.

How come no one has approached the Boston Herald to see if they stand by their story.  If Walsh is not the source, who could it be?  I think there is still a question as to whether there is a tape of the walk thru.  The writer of the article needs clarify, no?

First off, I can sue anyone for anything ... it doesn't mean I'll win.

There are thousands of lawyers in every city who will take any case as long as they are paid well. I also believe that this suit was withdrawn several weeks ago ... most likely becuase it is not a winable case.

Peace ... Rog

To sue in federal court, all you need is $350 for the filing fee and have the ability to draft (or hire someone to draft) a legal document called a complaint.

That part is really not hard.

The tricky part is convincing a judge not to dismiss a case when you don't any evidence that your claims have merit.

The lawyers for the Rams players found themselves in this predicament and decided to drop the case.

The better question is why did their lawyers decided to pursue this in the first place.  Hopefully, at the very least, their lawyer's reputation was harmed by this foolishness.  Ideally, the LA bar committee should investigate and take them to task for bringing a frivilous suit.
