I forgot to throw in, I can't pick my own team because I'm not a homer.

That makes you unique (just like the rest of us).

NateO, as an Indiana fan do you think Crean will bring success to IU in his first year, or will it take some time?  I love the move because it gets him out of the Big East and away from my Panthers (lol) but also because it brings a great coach to a program with a history of excellence.  I wouldn't be too surprised if Indiana went right back to the way it started last season and won a Big Ten title right out of the gates.

Hello! There's another thread going on about next year's IU team. Most people seem to think around a .500 or worse season if I'm reading that correctly?

I'm a little more optimistic than that, just in that he is getting some players in and he appears to do well with guard-oriented offenses, which he will have to some extent.

However, I wouldn't think a Big Ten title is in the cards. Losing Eric Gordon, DJ White, Bassett and Ellis isn't trivial, two of those 4 are first-round NBA talents and the other two have skills.

I do however think Crean's ability to coach offense will make an immediate impact on next year's Hoosier team for the better. Sampson couldn't coach offense worth a crap. I think they'll do better than the average Joe projects but, I dunno, 4th or 5th in the Big Ten, 1st round NCAA tournament loss? Anything better than that would be a pretty huge success, imo, considering what happened to this team over the past 6 months.

Ah, I didn't realize how many folks were leaving.  I had heard people talking about Crean "rebuilding" but I didn't understand why since they had such a good year before all the controversy; now I get it.

The Big East conference is the the best, 10 teams in the tournament and the ACC is an easy conference???

No, you aren't a homer at all.

Kansas, what do you suggest I call the ACC ?

They're not strong at all, I mean Duke, North Carolina maybe Clemson and this year Wake Forest is in the make for a good team.

And I never said that the Big East would get 10 teams from the conference in the NCAA tournament.

We'll see what the Big East can do this year. I think all of those top 10 teams in the Big East has a legit shot at making the tourney this year. In my opinion the Big East will have the best top 4 teams in their conference in the nation this year

I clearly stated that 10 Big East teams have a chance at making the tourney this year. That doesn't mean that they're going to get 10 teams in the tourney this year. They might get eight or nine.

I think we could get nine though, because of the fact that maybe one of those "bottom feeder" teams could win the conference tourney (The Big East has all 16 teams in their conference tourney as of next year) so they would have no choice but to put the 8 deserving at large teams in and the conference champion. Hence the Big East putting nine teams in.

I'm not being a homer if I'm saying something that's true.
