I don't think his "god" will punish him for watching the game.

I think that's real respectable! Do you think your "God" doesn't want you to think of him on the one day a week he set apart to be thinking of him? If this is how he/his religion chooses to live up to that expectation, how dare you belittle him for that! Atta Boy Mr. Miller, very commendable!

It has nothing to do with God punishing him. It has everything to do with maintaining reverence for God and keeping the Sabath day holy. I don't know about you, but it is hard to have a feeling of reverence and worship while watching a playoff basketball game, especially when you are the owner of one of the teams playing.

In this day of age where there's so much craziness going on around the world, our FAITH is the only thing that keeps families together.
For a NBA team owner who has so much money and a team getting closer to elimination, for him to even think about the importance of Sabbath day is pretty darn respectable.
This guy earned my respect when he let Derek Fisher out of his contract to take care of his kid and sign with another team. That shows character.
It's nice to know that there are still people out there with so much money that actually cares about family and his faith instead of just business and money.
How can that be weird?

Do we really need to know this?? I respect what every religion anybody wants to be apart of, but I don't need a play by play of what some guy is doing on is Sunday. If he doesn't want to go to the game on Sunday, good for him, now lets focus on the game to be played!

Whatever your beliefs are - that is fine. Whether you are Mormon, Christian or Muslim. But, anyone who thinks God isn't going to be watching the Lakers/Jazz is kidding himself!

If it's something you didn't care about or want to hear about, why did you read it and then comment on it?
I wonder if the game will be sold out or not, because that is a big Mormon area, and I wonder how many of them will be practicing the holy day... lol. I really hope the Jazz can pull it out & win the next 2...

Some people are motivated by a love of God more than a fear of God. It doesn't prove anything, but his Jazz that try not to play on Sundays, have the best home record this season.

Is'nt this obvious. He's not watching game 4 because that's when the Lakers bring out the broom to sweep the Jazz!! But if it truly is about religion then he is very commendable.

I live in Utah and I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will also be watching the game on Sunday. How we spend our Sundays is purely up to the individual. We are asked to keep Sunday holy by not particpating in sporting events, shopping, and spend the day with our famlies. Utah is about 50 percent LDS so I would not be surprised that the the ESA will be full to the brim. I commend Larry Miller for his choice to not watch the game or to attend. I wish I had the strength in that area of my life to not watch the game, however that is the great thing about live is that Heavenly Father gave us the ability to choose for our selves. Go Jazz!!!!
