The NBA playoffs are maybe some of the most exciting games in the league. You obviously do not watch college ball because they do the same thing, and its worse because there are no Lebron's or Kobe's to make a great shot to combat it. In the regular season the only great time to watch a game is the last 5 minutes or so of game time because of a lack of defense earlier in the game. The playoffs are 48 minutes of great competitive basketball. The end is fantastic. The NBA doesn't even foul until after 30 seconds left in the game anyway because of the 24 second shot clock you can get more possessions in a minute. Also they call timeouts to get the ball at half court so they can use less clock and extend the game. Whats wrong with that I love more and so do others. Do you hate sports because if the final minute of an NBA game bothers you I have no clue what you are doing writing this article or any.

I love the NBA playoffs.  My only issue with what I have seen this year is that the officials are determining more and more of the games with the calls and no calls that they make or don't make.  If it is a foul in the 1st quarter then call it in the 4th quarter.  And if it's not a foul in the 1st quarter, don't start calling it later in the game.  The lack of consistency makes it almost impossible for the players and the game to get into any type of good flow.  That's where you get all the frustration from the players.  I find myself screaming at the TV/refs all the time, but I still love the game, especially this time of year.

"The NBA doesn't even foul until after 30 seconds left in the game anyway because of the 24 second shot clock you can get more possessions in a minute."

What?! I don't even know what you are saying here, please try again.

Thank you for explaining to all of us why they call a time out at the end of the game? I wasn't aware that they get the ball at half court!(sarcasm)

You say that they are extending the game by calling timeouts at the end of the game, I say great.  That is good and all but we aren't upset that they are extending the game.  We all love more basketball.   But that is where the problem is.  We aren't getting more basketball, we are getting more free throws and more fouling.  It is great that the NBA has Kobe and Lebron, but honestly, I don't want to see them at the free throw line.  I want to see them breaking ankles and making nasty shots.  The last minute of the NBA is nothing but crap, I really have no idea what games you have been watching.

Also, gotta agree w/ yeahboy.  The refs are horribly inconsistent.  I don't think there has been any game changing calls this year(maybe the 3 pointer in the pistons game) but if something isn't a foul early in the game, why does it all of sudden become a foul late in the game?

Also, can we please just skip the rest of this round in the playoffs and bring on Lakers/Hornets and Boston/Detroit.  I have no interest in any of these series right now, although the spurs/hornets game was good last night.

its awful to watch players shoot free throws(jk) it part of the damn game. the refs only slow it down if the game means a lot. I have watched every playoff game this year so far, and the last minute is fine. Watch college basketball and it is 10000000 times worse. I was saying that rarely unless a hack attack is on, will a team down by 5 or 6 foul right under a minute when they know they have the ball at least twice more. They wait until about 45 or 30 seconds left normally. Unlike in college(i.e.. National Championship game) where people start fouling with four minutes left in the game, but i assume doyel thought that was really boring as well.

Do you not agree that the PLAYERS commit the fouls not the refs? blame greg popavich or Flip saunders that their teams are boring as hell. The last minute is perfect and for anyone wanting to see excitement I would say to forget all the other minutes and watch the last because that is where the memories and all-decade plays are made. Go ahead take away Derek Fishers 3 for the lakers a couple of years ago, or Jordan's shots against the cavs or Jazz. all of these happened in the final minute. All you have left is Lebron clanking threes off the back iron.

Also I wouldn't be so sure that the Hornets are going the beat the defending champs. For someone that writes a lot and acts like they know what you are talking about, your predictions sound like you looked at the seeding and picked the top four teams, and again this isnt college basketball.

i don't care who commits the fouls, it is the fact that we have to watch about 10 free throws in the last minute of the game.  i agree it is part of the game, but would you rather watch them play basketball or shoot from the line??  and who cares about college basketball, I wasn't comparing the two, I don't even watch college bball so I would never even try to compare the two.

you bring up exciting moments in the final minute, but how often do we have those moments?? 9 out of 10 games the last minute is weak.  the best you could bring up is fishers shot from YEARS ago and shots from jordan's era.  where are all the memorable last minute moments from recent games?

as for the "predictions".  I probably should have phrased all that better... those were not predictions, those are the matchups I want to see.  in no way do I want to see the spurs make the WCF, they have to be one of the most boring great teams in the history of the NBA.  but if you want predictions here you go... lakers-pistons in the finals
