I was just looking at the standings and was more than happy to see that the Rangers have a better record than 8 teams. Here are the bottom feeders below us:

  1. Reds
  2. Nationals
  3. Mariners
  4. Pirates
  5. Rockies
  6. Padres
  7. Royals
  8. Tigers

We are tied with 2 teams with 16 wins. They are:

  1. Brewers
  2. Indians

We need to win 4 games to get back to .500. We can do it!!!

I am still mad at Richie Sexson for his bush league helmet toss last night. What a punk. Act like a punk, get treated like a punk.

I like how Gerald Laird has Sexson in a headlock here:

Nice headlock, Laird.  Is Nolan Ryan rubbing off on him?  Reminiscent of the greatest moment in sports, period: Smackdown.

Sherm...I'm a little confused here.

You appear to be defending Laird on this post, yet on the M's board you said you thought Laird was a tool.

You appear to be a hardcore Ranger fan by the content and frequency of your posts. I don't doubt it for a minute. And I will be the first to admit that I have not been a fan of all of our players. But keep it in the family. Don't know if you have brothers or sisters, but if you do, then you know that sometimes you hate them at home, and always defend them in public.

Personally, I think Laird is a fantastic defensive catcher, and he appeared to be the only one ready to fight last night. You are certainly entitled to your opinion on Gerald Laird, but come on, man, if you want to burn him, do it in house, and defend him in the house of the enemy.

Really?  "House of the enemy"?  I think you might be taking this one a little too far.  I don't know what Sherm said on the other post about Laird, but I don't think a fan has keep quiet if they have a problem with a player.

You are right. Laird said a few things in sping training that were out of line. He was saying things that were not supportive of the team.

I agree great defense. Bad hitter. I want Salty to get the chance. They both are good. I was very happy to see Gerald Laird getting into the mix and I was proud to be a Rangers fan at that point. Fear you have good post. Keep them coming...

3 shutout games in a row.  When was the last time that happened?

I think 6 games for Richie Sexson is too lenient.  I think he should be suspended for at least a month for throwing the helmet.  Gutless and spineless for a guy who is 6'7".

I don't know what Sherm said but personally, I try to look at things objectively.  That includes my favorite sports teams.  I like to have a nice civilized debate with fans of other teams.  Well, except maybe Eagles fans

The more I see that replay I think I know why he did it. Sexson is a wuss and isn't man enough to go one on one with Kason Gabbard. He throw the helmet to get Gabby to flinch so he can take a shot. But being the wuss that Sexson is he tackles Gabby. What a joke.

I think pitchers should charge the batter as soon as the bat is out of there hands. Throwing a helmet is a new low.

i have oftened wondered why the pitcher just stands there, and lets the guy get a running start on him. sherm, you played ball, why wouldnt  he, the pitcher,  come FOWARD  and jaw jack 'em......lol......
